Ravenous Dinner

It was quiet upstairs, which wasn't unexpected because the entire rooms in the plaza being used for the launch had been rented for the night. It wasn't however difficult to know the rooms he wasn't in, since the lights were fully turned on...

All except two.

She stepped into the first, and immediately felt it in her that this was where he had stormed off. It wasn't completely dark, with the lights casting shadows through glass walls, and the doors which led to the balcony were thrown open as well.

She imagined him opening the door in a hurry and forgetting to shut it. Holding her gown with the tip of her fingers, she placed each foot in front of the other, stopping as soon as she caught sight of him staring out the beautiful view provided by the glass walls.

Fireworks were going off, mingling with the tall buildings to make the view so beautiful to stare at, yet his mind and heart were all in turmoil.
