"Are you alright?"

I glanced up as I heard her mother question her downcast demeanor. Putting the meal that she was to eat aside, she glanced up at us.

"I want to be discharged already. I hate it here."

"The doctor hasn't given you the clear." I

"I'm fine."

"He insisted on bed rest." I said to ease helplessness on her mother's face.

"Why don't you want me to go home? What are you hiding this time?"

"Why would I be hiding anything from you?"

"Isn't that all you do?"

"Erm, I'll think I'll excuse you both." My mother-in-law's tired sigh was the last thing that dropped before a stretch of silence as she left the room. Hannah glared at me furiously.

"Why do you want to create a scene? You want to fight when you're not even strong enough?"

"I've been stuck here for a week, Zachary. I want to go back to the house."

"Our home." I corrected.

"It doesn't feel like a home. A home built on lies doesn't suffice for that title."
