Royal goes off on Pamela

Pamela:

"You are not going there as my date or anything like that. This is my first time attending something like this, and I have no idea on who to take. Also you've proven yourself most times to me in social gatherings, so that is why I'm asking," he said, and I stared blankly.

I knew his ego had grown, because he had advanced in status, but it was laughable to give a whole presentation as a reason to ask me to be his date to an occasion. I mean we used to date.

At the moment I was confused since Royal was attending the same event. It would be impossible to go as Royal's date since we had a plan and Stella had made it clear that the companies were enemies, but then I feared what Royal's reaction would be when he finds out about us.

I had to seek his consent first.

"I would check if I would be busy that night. I mean it's outside office hours, and I have to be sure that I'm fit to go for your fancy dinner," I said to him.
