“Yeah, they're still investigating, though.” Shawn said, looking at Sabrina who seemed so caught up and occupied with what she's seeing.
“How about these?” Sabrina asked, referring to the silver flash drive and the three tapes placed on Shawn's desk.
“They came with the photographs.” Shawn answered, fixing his gaze back on the scattered papers and photographs placed on his desk.
“Dang it, I don't have my MacBook with me.” Sabrina said looking at the flash drive regretting not bringing her MacBook along with her.
Who can blame her though, she wasn't expecting this.
“I think I have one here.” Shawn said bending over, probably looking for the MacBook, once he got it out of the drawer he gave it to Sabrina.
“Thanks.” Sabrina said, taking it then moving to the other desk on Shawn's office because she was weirded by the fact that she was sitting in her client's office desk on his own company.
Once she reached the other desk, she immediately turned on the MacBook and plugged the flash drive.
There were 10 videos in it, all of them looked like they were recorded by a CCTV camera and each video contained 3 to 7 minutes duration footages.
Sabrina finished watching all of them within an hour, completely forgetting the exhaustion and sleepiness that she was feeling. Only seven of the videos can be considered as evidence because the other three were just too weak to be represented during trials.Sabrina knew how valuable these files are, and she also knew that they cannot afford to lose them.
She duplicated some copy using the flash
drives that Shawn gave her earlier so in case that something happens to the original one, they won't lose the evidence before finally shifting her eyes off the MacBook. She then stood up and organized the papers and the photos that Shawn told her to organize.Once all the work was done, Sabrina went back to the other desk and sat back closing her eyes, she stayed like that for a few minutes before opening her eyes again and that's when she saw a sleeping Shawn on the couch.
She totally forgot about him.
She kept staring at him, taking his figure from head to toe, and that's when she noticed the dark circles under his eyes.
Even though he looked like that he just stayed up for 48 hours without sleeping and stress is evident on his face, he was still gorgeous.Sabrina scoffed at that. Unfair, she thought to herself.
She was extremely focused on him that she didn't even notice that just one move backwards from the chair that she was sitting, she might fall.
And that's exactly what happened.
“Son of a-” Sabrina didn't even get the chance to finish her sentence.
“Sabrina?” Shawn spoke confused, looking at Sabrina on the ground. “Are you okay?” He added.
“Yeah, I just fell.” She said, standing up as Shawn chuckled.
“I fell asleep, didn't I?” Shawn asked yawning while sitting back on the couch feeling a little bad that he left Sabrina to do all the work.
“Yeah, tired much?” Sabrina responded, yawning too.
“Sort of, how did it go?” Shawn asked again talking about the evidences while looking at a tired Sabrina sitting on the chair of the other desk.
“Oh I've organized them, the ones on the blue envelope are the paper documents, the yellow one contains the videotapes and the flash drives, while the purple one contains the photographs.” Sabrina answered.
“That was fast.” He chuckled looking at Sabrina's face down to her jaw and her neck and to her, almost exposed chest. This time she was only wearing a sports bra under her semi-casual shirt and yes, the upper buttons of the shirt were left unbuttoned!
That alone made Shawn's mind go to sinful places. Unfortunately, his dirty thoughts were interrupted by Sabrina snapping her fingers.“Like what you see?” Sabrina said with a smirk.
And that's when realization hit him.
He's going to spend a lot of time with her starting from now until the case is over. A game of affection will be ignited between the two of them and only one of them can win, and the loser would be hurt terrible.
And he can tell that Sabrina is aware of this.
Shawn cleared his throat and put his serious face back. “Thanks for helping me, Ms. Clarke and I'm deeply sorry again for disturbing your evening, I promise that I'll make it up to you” He spoke attempting to change the topic and fortunately enough, she understood the hint.
“No need to make it up to me, Mr. Turner, I promised you resilience, and I'm just giving you resilience.” She spoke professionally as if she didn't just seduced him mere moments ago.
“Oh well, since we're done for the night, what do you want to do now?” Shawn asked, tracing patterns on his tattoo in his left arm.“I just want to sleep,” She responded with her eyes closed. “I got a question, though.” Sabrina added and Shawn just hummed in response, signaling her to go on.
“Why do we have to do this now? I'm not complaining though,” Sabrina said with her eyes still shut. “I Know You're a busy guy and I too myself have a lot of things to do but is it really impossible to met tomorrow so I can help you with this?” She added.
“Well, I forgot to mention that I also hired another lawyer to work with you, and the reason we can't do this tomorrow is because I have to give him the evidences that you organized first thing in the morning before leaving for a business meeting in La Jara." Shawn spoke, looking at her.
“I thought you were giving me the evidences.” Sabrina said after hearing what Shawn just said.
“I just want you to focus on the evidences that you showed me earlier, and I also want you to stick with my undercovers and get evidences from them to connect to the case.” Shawn said.
“Okay, when can I meet them?” Sabrina asked.
“Next week,” he said, “We all need to met and start working on this case as a team.” He added again.
“We sure do, and I'm guessing that you also signed a non-exclusive contract with your other lawyer.” Sabrina said after knowing that she isn't going to be alone in solving this case.
“Yeah, I think you might know him because he too is working in Zachary Madison's firm.” Shawn said.
“Really? What's his name?” She asked somewhat interested.
“Scott Lindsay Ackerman.”
“I'm sorry what?” Sabrina spoke shocked after hearing Scott's name. Her ex's name to be exact. “I said that the other lawyer that I hired is Scott Lindsay Ackerman,” Shawn said, baffled with Sabrina's sudden reaction. “What's wrong?” He added, still not getting the situation. Sabrina didn't say anything, she just sat there speechless. But what's there to say? This is supposed to be about business and Shawn is her client, talking about her personal life would be so unprofessional, and she showed him enough unprofessionalism tonight and that's not what she wanted. “Nothing,” She said, clearing her throat. “It's getting pretty late and since I've done what you asked me to do, can I go now?” Sabrina asked, buttoning the third button of her shirt but leaving the two upper buttons unbuttoned. “Yeah, let me walk you to your car.” He said standing up, getting his gaze off Sabrina's chest. “No it's ok
Friday, the best day of the week, next to Saturday. Well, at least for Sabrina. For her, Friday is the only day in the week when you can chill and do whatever you want (especially during nighttime) without worrying about work or school the next day.Friday is also the day before Saturday, and that's a plus.Numerous people have their own different favorite day of the week that isn't Friday and if you're one of those people, I totally respect your opinion. Though, don't ever dare differ when you're talking to Sabrina Clarke about this matter because she's just going to shove your argument deep in the ass.Yeah, she loves Friday that much. It's been exactly a week since the last time she saw Shawn, and they haven't spoken to each other since. You might be wondering what the heaven it is she's doing right now. Well, she's just doing the same thing that she's been doing since Zachary got her to share a specialized office with Scott.Avoiding the awkwardness.Yeah, she's been doing that
A typical Sunday morning for Sabrina is when she wakes up at seven, go to Starbucks, get her cappuccino coffee, and spend the rest of the morning alone.Though, today isn't one of those typical Sunday mornings.Taking a bite of her donut, Sabrina listened to Igor and Ivan talk about random stuff.Apparently, they invited her to have breakfast with them and discuss business.Alas! They haven't mentioned that since they got there. Basically, it was just them and Sabrina hanging out like buds.“So Blondie,” Ivan said, using the nickname he created for Sabrina the first time he saw her, making her instantly get out of her thoughts. “When did you start working as a lawyer?” He added with curiosity evident in his voice. This is a question that she has gotten use to being asked by now.“Last week.” She proudly answered, setting her donut down.“Really?” He asked shocked as Igor also showed sign of interest, but he kept quiet. One thing that Sabrina learned about them (even though she only m
Waking up exactly before sunrise with the gorgeous city view from a luxurious apartment is always pleasant.Well, not if you haven't slept at all!Clearing her kitchen counter and putting the things that she got there into places where they should be, Sabrina yawned, feeling drained from all the work she's been doing since last night.Who knew that having multiple clients at the same time have its pros and cons too.Apparently, since the Leatherwood tech group, a tech company in Denver, signed a contract with the Madison LLC through her, Sabrina experienced stress like she had never experienced before. Going in and out of the city to get small, but golden pieces of information can be exhausting and let's not even mention the fact that she had five other clients to assist too.Her life seemed like it's just about work at the moment. “God, I literally look like a twenty-six years old version of Cruella right now,” Sabrina spoke to herself looking in a mirror touching the dark circles
Waking up with a headache caused by a hangover is always a bummer.A headache is already bad enough, and a hangover would just double its bad vibes. Unfortunately for Sabrina, today is one of those days when she gets to wake up with one.Removing the thick covers from her tiny form, She groaned, feeling her head pounding from all the drinking she had done last night.Yesterday was quite pleasant, they got a new lead, and they got that without getting into deep shit.Exactly after that little undercover project yesterday, Aria literally did try to kill Sabrina, seriously mad of the blonde for putting her into such a situation at the restaurant. Fortunately, Igor and Everett just made it in time just before the girl's could rip each other's throats out. That same night, too, they celebrated their successful little operation. Sabrina blasted the speakers and Shawn opened wine, and champagne bottles as everybody just went looseThough, not all of them really had that much fun from the
“I'm sorry,” Said Sabrina, trying to stop herself from laughing. “So the girl that you've been fantasizing about finally made a move on you, but you turned her down because she's underage?” She added mockingly.“It's not like th-” Explained Ivan.“Then what is it?” She cut him off before he can even finish his sentence.Ivan came into Sabrina and Scott's office earlier to discuss the new changes that they have to apply now that the case just went on trial and their enemies are getting more and more updated about them. Though, Scott wasn't really around, so he just had to discuss matters with Sabrina.Their conversation was going smoothly at first until Ivan mentioned something about his love life and now here they are. “It's just that, I'm thirty-two, and she's seventeen and considering the fact that she's underage, and I'm not, if I started dating her that's probably going to be classified as pedophilia.” Explained Ivan as Sabrina burst off laughter again.Ivan can spend an entire d
Apologizing. A thing that Sabrina would only do once in a million years.Okay, I was exaggerating.Clearly, she doesn't just want to apologize no matter what. Not even back in kindergarten where she almost set the whole school on fire, or that one time when she pushed her classmate on the freezing waters of a swimming pool during the winter at a schoolmate's party, and that time when she painted her brother's room pink.Apologizing has always just been a big No No to Sabrina, and it would always take her every ounce of her pride she has to simply just say “I'm sorry”.Letting those two words and seven letters slip off her mouth had always been a big deal to her.Even If sometimes she knew to herself that it was her fault, and she's to blame, she still wouldn't do it.Alas! There's always going to be one of those times when realization would hit her and her senses would come running in, telling her that she had to swallow her pride and simply apologize. And let's just say that one of th
Kids are little innocent creatures that run around most of the time, which a lot of people adore. And let's just say that Sabrina's not one of those people. She never had a sweet spot for them. There's just something about little kids and her, that just doesn't go well in nature. She would always do everything just to avoid them, and the fact that she's stuck with one right now is quite unfortunate.Very unfortunate.“No.” Said Sabrina, refusing to take the piece of Lego from the four years old's hand.Worried about not hearing anything from Shawn for a while, Sabrina decided to come and visit him, which turned out to be a such a bad idea considering that he was actually looking out for his little niece at the moment. And yeah, it was irritating. She avoided the kid the entire time, but the tiny creature doesn't just want to leave her alone. This definitely has ruined her for looking after a little one forever.“Pweasssse.” Begged the toddler with her puppy dog eyes, hoping that Sabrin
