Chapter 16

Alex Cohen was helpless.

Even now, Sukie Lane still had not learned her lesson. She could not be an idiot, right?

Big Ken looked coldly at Sukie and handed a card to Alex.

"Young Master, this is a fuel card. It’s charged with 200,000 and is also part of the gift."

"200,000?"

Alex was shocked and almost asked the idiotic question of "could I withdraw this in cash?".

Even Sukie finally came to her senses.

The person who put 200,000 into a card that could not be withdrawn was either a fool or a big shot.

Considering Alex received this car as a gift, the gift-giver was obviously a big shot that she could not afford to offend.

However, Sukie's scruples were only with that gift-giver. She still did not respect Alex and her heart was still unbalanced. How could Alex, a poor beggar, be worthy of a Lamborghini? It was just as hard for her to accept this fact as it was feeding good cabbage to a pig.

Shane Locke realized that Sukie was going to be humiliated again and quickly pulled her away with the excuse of treating her to a big meal.

Big Ken had satisfactorily completed his task and also offered to take his leave.

Alex could not hold back his curiosity and called Big Ken aside. He asked, "Brother Big Ken, are you familiar with my father?"

Big Ken nodded and said, "I've been with Master for over 10 years."

"Then surely you know what my father does for a living?"

"Young Master, I'm sorry, but there are some situations I can't divulge."

"Then how did my father's money come about? You have to tell me this at least, right? Otherwise, I wouldn't even dare to take his money and car."

"Well...Wyatt Corporation, Harrods Corporation, Ryker Gardens Corporation, you've heard of them all, right?"

"You're talking about the giants of the city's real estate, entertainment, and F&B industries, respectively!"

"Exactly. Those 3 corporations, none of them are Master’s assets…”

"Look at you! Brother Big Ken, if it wasn't for the fact that you're as strong as a bull, I would have punched you already. Do you believe it?"

Alex pursed his lips and said.

Big Ken scratched his head and gave an embarrassed smile.

"Young Master, just hear me out. Although none of those 3 groups are Master's assets, they all have a deep relationship with your family. Let's put it this way. If they cut off their ties with your family, 80% of them will suffer a great loss of power."

"That f*cked up? So...what exactly does my dad do?"

"Master won't let me talk too much..."

Big Ken pulled out another black card and said with a red face, "Young Master, this is the highest level membership card for Ryker Gardens. You can enjoy many privileges at all the stores under this group. You might be able to use it. Here, take it."

"You want to use this membership card to shut me up? Well, you succeeded."

It was not that Alex was bribed by the membership card, but he did not want to embarrass Big Ken.

Big Ken was relieved of his burden and hurriedly left.

Only then did Felix Moore reluctantly accept reality. He stood in front of Alex and asked softly, "Brother Alex, did you subjugate Sister-In-Law so quickly?"

Alex was stunned.

"What makes you say that?"

"The money and the car must have been given to you by Sister-In-Law or her family, right? It's not like I don't know about your relationship with her. If you hadn't subjugated her, could she have changed so much? You’re now on the right path, man. Congratulations! But I'm curious, how did you manage it? By body alone...or technique?"

"Let's just say, I'm not at liberty to tell you explicitly for now."

Alex knew that Felix had misunderstood him, but that did not seem like a bad thing.

Wayne Larson had said that it was not time to publicly recognize him yet, so it was best if he kept quiet for now.

In this situation, using the Sullivan family as a front would be perfect.

Felix thought that Alex had something difficult to say, so he did not pursue the matter. He called Quinn Shetford over and naturally changed the topic.

"Brother Alex, what Sukie said just now are her own words and have nothing to do with us, so don't think too much about it. You know what kind of people Quinn and I are."

Quinn nodded her head and added, "Alex, the reason I was mad at Felix today was not that he lent you the money, but because he shouldn't have hidden it from me. Acting like if I knew, I wouldn't have lent you the money. Am I that unkind?”

"How can I think that? I didn't discuss it with you because I was afraid that Sukie would find out. You saw how she reacted just now. Quinn, listen to me and cut off ties with her. I'm not talking bad about her behind her back. I still dare to say this in front of her. It's just not worth befriending the kind of person she is."

"But we're from the same hometown. We've known each other since we were kids and we're still colleagues…”

Felix and Quinn each have their own concerns. Both were not wrong, but they just could not reach a consensus for the time being.

Alex spoke up and smoothed things over for them.

“You just need to maintain your distance with her. If you must come into contact with her, just remember not to open your heart to her and don’t trust what she says. Okay, now that we’ve cleared up the money-lending situation, let’s go! I’ll treat you guys to dinner. Let’s go to the Drunken Beauty Restaurant.“
