After crying for what seemed like ages I finally composed myself and explained the recent memory to my foster parents and they listened. All these years I thought I was abandoned but my parents were murdered and Adam survived. I had no idea what happened to him but I understood. “I think I need to go away for a while,” I spoke.

“Away?” My mother was the first to speak, her voice hesitant.

“I don’t think it’s a good idea sweetheart. You just remembered a huge fraction of your life and it’s now exactly wise to be on your own now.”

“I understand but this is something I need to do.”

“What about work?” she asked looking at me, “What about us?”

“This is more important than work, mom,” I added.

“For how long?” she questioned.

“I don’t know,” I replied, staring at the floor.
