Nigel
“Dammit, James. Stop being difficult.” I muttered under my breath.
BOOM!
“What was that?” one shouted.
“Oh my God. Earthquake.” another voice shouted.
“We are going to die.” another voice came.
I was trying to get my bearings and figure out what the hell was going on. There was no earthquake. We were under attack. That was an explosion. It was coming from somewhere in the building. The phones and sirens began to blare again.
“James escaped.”
That’s all I heard from one of the comms to know he was the one who did this.
Nigel “Nigel?” Morgan raised a brow at me. I wasn’t sure if it was out of surprise or guilt. “Can I come in?” “Why?” he asked irritably. I squared my eyes suspiciously as he sidestepped and let me in. I was surprised that he would answer his door because most of the time someone else had always opened the door for me the few times I had been here. I was right to be here. James must be hiding in one of the many rooms here. “Are you here to look for something?” Morgan spoke as he crossed his arms, “Now that I’m not under investigation. I have had enough of you detectives.” “Was detective Shapiro and Ridley here?” “No?” he frowned.
Razor “Good thing I have a solid alibi because those detectives looked ready to cuff me and throw away the key.” Nick scoffed amusingly. I looked down at my watch. “We need to be careful now. With Lara’s death and all.” “Hmm,” I nodded, glancing at my watch again. “Razor!” Nick banged his fist on the table, “Are you expecting something soon?” Nick barked looking at me. “Did you even hear what I said?” he raised his brow at me. I did but I just stared at him avoiding looking at my watch again. I know about Lara. I was the one who killed her. I didn’t have time for him. I had better things to do. His father's bidding to be exact. We had a major plan brewing as I was standing here.
Adam I pushed and pulled my restrained self trying to get someone in here. They seemed to have been immune to my attempts. I still know nothing about the two guests or should I say fellow captives. All my efforts were useless. Jay was usually a chatterbox who blabbed when provoked but he seemed to have improved. It was infuriating. I couldn’t bait Jay any longer. His brother seemed to be unavailable lately. I hardly see him around. Nick is more delusional than ever. He comes here to either punch me or tell me about my sister. Every time he walks in my heart skips because I’m afraid. Any moment he would walk in here with Dani. It will be just as wrecking as him finding the bracelet. I will be responsible if she is caught. The door opened and I stopped rattling the chains to look at Jay. “W
Nick “Burn in hell,” he said. Adam was quick to point the gun directly at me without hesitating. Click. I laughed. Click. I will admit. It was a neat trick. He really thought he was that lucky. “What’s wrong?” I taunt craning my neck to look at him. “Son of a bitch,” he said, throwing the gun down on Razor’s feet with a scowl. I was surprised he didn’t try throwing the gun at me. “Chain him,” I ordered as I crossed my legs. Adam tried to figh
HarperI opened my eyes with a startle as I blinked a couple of times trying to familiarize myself with my surroundings. I reached for my head with my hand as I groaned. A split headache forming. My neck was stiff and sore, I had to twist it a couple of times.I just had the worst nightmare.Still in my half sleep mode. I yawned as I tried to get up from the chair. I really needed to stop sleeping on the chair after studying.“Careful,”I panicked as I looked to see my feet and waist chained to the chair. It took a few minutes to understand that my hands and mouth were free. I searched for the source of the voice. I stared at him for a long time as everything came crashing down.
JamesI was pacing back and forth in a cottage four buildings away from my house. I was waiting for proof that Harper was still alive. They killed Faith. I paused and let that thought sink in again. Faith was family. I watched her grow up with Harper. I am devastated and I can’t imagine what Harper is going through. I didn’t know what else to think. Harper could be next.It was clear they wanted to send a message to me and they knew I would know about the body. They made sure of it. They dumped her. Faith. They left her close to town near the bus station. I clenched my fist and almost punched the wall and stopped before impact. I took heavy breaths and tried to calm a raging storm. It’s people like them who make me wish for death rather than jail. Jail was way way too nice for them. The phone pinged. I stared at i
Nick“Why won’t you wake up, Kiki,” I sighed as I fixed her curls and ran my palm on her face. I leaned closer and kissed her softly on her lips. “You have no idea how much I regret leaving you only to be back to see you like this. I regret a lot of things,” I longingly looked at her.I wanted to shake her. Scream ‘wake up’ to her.“I love you so much,” I confessed as I slumped to my seat and grabbed her unresponsive hand. “I wish things were different. I always wonder if my father hadn’t…” I circled my thumb on her hand and I swear I must have felt her move but again I thought it to be my imagination.A projection.“I bet we would be married if things
Razor The plan worked. It worked better than I could have managed until the part where Charles said he was going to kill Kioni. I tried to keep my face neutral as I looked at James and Nick. Nick looked unhinged. “Father,” Nick clenched his fists as he glared at his father gnashing his teeth. “Ah, Nick.” Charles chuckled, “My son.” Charlee slowly strode to his son. “What are you talking about?” James looked between father and son, “Leave Kioni out of this. Where is my sister?” “Shut up,” Both father and son spoke to James before they stared back at each other. “You are such a disappointment,” Charles snarled, “How could you Nicholas? How could you kill Nelson?” Charles’ voice cracked, “He was you
