Chapter 153: The Forest of Lost Souls

I was rigid, skeptically taking in my surroundings.

My eyes swept all I could see, trying to see if there was anything unusual.

Their was nothing unusual about the forest.

There wasn't even the skulls I'd expected to see lying around on the forest floor.

That part was sort of something I had left for her.

I watched my boots as I walked.

There was nothing but fallen leaves on the ground and some were still freshly fallen.

My ankle boots crushed some of them, making the only sounds I could hear. Everywhere was so quiet, I'd vomit all my phone.

Nathan was super light on his feet.

Werewolves always were. They walked like there was only air beneath their feet, making no noise.

I looked beside me to steal a glance at Nathan like I'd been doing for the last twenty minutes.

He wasn't beside me.

I paused warily, and turned around to search for him.

But nothing.

I started to panic just a little.

There was no way he had been attacked, cause I would have heard.
