Chapter 52: Ransomed

There's a party at the pack house. Everywhere was lit up, and the music was so loud it could make your ears bleed.

Courtesy of the twins return. Those boys found an excuse to throw a rave party anytime.

And I couldn't stop it, no matter how much I wanted to. Cause the boys had reason to celebrate.

They'd barely escaped the clutches of the witches. And they'd helped so willingly.

Besides, their pack mates knew there had been a disturbance in the area with the new witches no one had actually seen or met. Everyone knew today that they'd been 'run out of town.'

I went inside the study, sinking into a chair as I brooded.

Faye was missing still. She'd somehow managed to actually give Jason the slip. And I had to make sure they found her unharmed. She always fell into every trouble.

Even members of the pack that weren't so useful were my responsibility, too.

She was just a vulnerable teenage girl really, and she'd gone out in the world where both humans and non humans could hurt
