Alpha Reon’s POV
People say I’m the most vicious Alpha to kill my father and usurp the throne from him. What they don’t know is what he did to me first.
He killed my fated mate.
Why?
She was a descendant of the family that committed treason.
Father wouldn’t hear my pleas to spare her. Moreso, she didn’t take part in the treason.
He believed she wanted me for the sole purpose of seeking revenge for her family.
Since the day he issued the command to have her beheaded, I have never been the same again. If my father could do something as callous as killing his woman, I’d continue to make people fear me and my sword.
When I lived under my father’s shadow, people saw me as a weak heir. One who can’t rule and be as brave as his father.
I was glad to have been given a chance to prove them wrong.
All the court officials have nothing on me.
Some have tried to get in my favour by suggesting I marry from their clan.
But I’d hear nothing of it.
I wasn’t in the mood to take on another woman.
Judith was the only woman for me.
And my father took her from me.
There was no other woman in the kingdom for me.
So, I buried myself in pack duties and dominating territories.
Once in a while, I sought the comfort of a woman. Not just any woman. But one that looked like Judith.
I’d warm my bed with whores of Judith look-alike.
But it ended there.
This fateful evening, there was a beautiful woman in my bed.
One as beautiful as Judith. She even resembled Judith. But she didn’t strike a chord with me.
“Are you leaving so soon, my Alpha?” Her ass jiggled in my king-sized bed as her gaze flirted with me.
With the way her hand roamed her breasts like she was searching for gold, it was obvious she was trying all she could to seduce me back into bed with her.
“I need to drive to town. Here is some money for your T-fare.” I threw her a thousand-dollar bundle of mint. It touched her soft pound of flesh that was beaded with sweat from the sex we just finished having.
Her breasts were a sweet delight to the loneliness that plagued me sometimes.
Her eyes glittered with gratitude.
She got up to hug me. Throwing me a flirtatious hug. Her breasts smooched my chest.
I covered her lips in wet kisses.
“You made me a very happy man.” I dismissed her by squeezing her ass cheeks before walking away.
“When next am I going to see you?” She asked after me. But I gave her no response.
Truth was, I was driving to town to meet with another woman.
On business grounds this time around. Her name is Olivia.
I knew Olivia wanted something more than business with me.
Over the phone, when we conversed, she sounded in love with me.
She had a whole empire of her own.
She was a big businesswoman with over 500 employees.
She was an Alpha female.
And I was sure many men frolicked to get in her good graces.
I just wanted to do business with her.
Her wit and business tactics pulled me to her.
I don’t mix business with pleasure. Somehow, she got the wrong idea when I approached her for a partnership. She wanted to meet up with me for other reasons and made that very clear.
Tonight, I will make myself clearer to her at dinner.
I don’t mind if she doesn’t want the partnership anymore ‘if’ I insist on refusing her.
Wait! Did I just say ‘if’? Allow me to repeat that.
I don’t mind if she doesn’t want the partnership anymore ‘when’ I insist on refusing her.
“It looks more like you’re going on a blind date with your outfit.” I could see Beta Jasper adored my outfit with the look I got from him.
“Are you sure you won’t be interested in Olivia anytime soon?” Beta Finn, my second Beta spoke as he opened the car door for me to get in.
I had two Betas serve me as Alpha King. They were both twins. Beta Jasper and Beta Finn. We have been childhood friends for as long as I can remember.
They were my medicine in a toxic world. They sought after my wellness and health.
Now they were worried about my bachelor lifestyle.
“You two should keep your eyes glued on the road. Getting late for my meeting with Olivia.”
“Olivia doesn’t mind waiting as long as you are coming.” Beta Finn was responsible for driving. He ignited the key and started.
Beta Jasper simply kept me company at the back – though he could be annoying sometimes.
“It’s been five years already, man. It’s high time you settle down with a woman and get an heir. Judith would like to see you move on.”
“I still got a lot of years ahead of me. I will get a woman before I’m 45.” I tried to shut Jasper up.
Beta Jasper gave up and scrolled through his favourite book.
“What are you reading?” Beta Finn got curious, catching a glimpse of some lewd pictures from the book through the front mirror.
“It’s a book on sex positions.” Beta Jasper replied.
His twin burst into peals of laughter.
“Why are you reading a book on sex positions when you haven’t got a woman?”
“I’m preparing myself for her the right way.”
“Well, you can simply just ask me and I could show you some tricks.” Beta Finn teased.
“I don’t need your lame teachings. Just because you fuck around with all these women doesn’t make you good in bed.” Beta Jasper taunted back.
“They can all testify I’m good!”
“What did you expect them to tell you?” Beta Finn teased him.
“You are simply just jealous…”
“Look out!” I called his attention.
Beta Finn almost hit a lady running across the road.
But she wasn’t running alone.
She was in danger.
Some armed men were chasing after her.
“Holy shit! Why are they chasing after such an innocent girl?” Beta Finn asked no one in particular.
I got out of the car to check out the scene playing before me.
“She could be an assassin. Let me check things out there” Beta Jasper offered.
With the wave of my hand, I insisted.
“Be careful Alpha.” Beta Jasper was concerned for me.
“Are you going to allow him to go out there by himself?”
“We are here for him. At alert.” Beta Jasper replied to his brother.
By now, I caught up with the lady who had been running for her dear life.
“Let me go! They are almost catching up with me!”
She was right.
The heavily guarded men after life were drawing their bows to target her.
But when they saw me, they showed their respect by dropping their weapons.
Swords, arrows and bows alike.
“I can protect you. But I must be sure you are not an assassin or I promise to kill you myself.” I said to the frightened lady.
Alpha Reon’s POV“What do you want with her?” I asked the bloodthirsty men. “What did she do so wrong? On whose orders are you acting?”The commander in charge stepped forward to give me a response. I knew his name to be Gamma Atticus.“My King. Her father gave the orders to kill her.”“Why would a father want to kill his daughter?! No matter what she did wrong, that’s outrageous!” I exclaimed. I was the least surprised considering what my father did to me. Judith was my life. And when he killed her, he took my life.“Swara is on the run because she has lost her mind since Bram called it off with her. She stole her father’s car and money. Even some of Saloni’s clothes. Because of this, her father decreed she is now a rogue and to be handled as such!” Gamma Atticus spelt it out to me.I scrunched my nose in disgust.“Young lady, your name is Swara?” I turned to look into her eyes. Her pleading eyes.“Please don’t allow them to kill me. My father wants me dead at all costs. I didn’t ste
Alpha Bram’s POVI was all nervous and apprehensive upon hearing from Saloni that her twin was dead.I got even more angry but could not show it when I heard her father was the cause. To be sure he heard correctly, I dragged Gamma Atticus to a corner and dealt him a few hard blows for killing my woman.“She was my fated mate for God’s sake! How could you have killed her even if her father commanded it?!”I kept throwing jabs and punches at him – as though it’d dissipate my anger.Gamma Atticus didn’t retaliate neither did he dodge those punches.“You could have done something.” Atticus bellowed.I was about to deal him another punch till his last statement.I punched into the dry air instead, growling in grief and disbelief at Swara’s death.Asking Atticus, “What could I have done?” My eyes were filling with tears.“You could have accepted her as your mate despite her weak wolf. Despite what people will say. Everyone has their weak side. You could have complimented her weakness while
Swara’s POV“How did your meeting with Olivia go?”“And who told you about Olivia?”“Your two jolly Betas won’t some burning my ears with stories of her. She seems to adore you seeing how long you spent with her.”“Who wouldn’t adore me?”“That would be me. Until I saw how you saved my life tonight.”“I simply did my duty. But why would your father want to hurt you?”“I’m not his biological daughter. Mother cheated on me and even in her grave, he still holds it against her.”“I’m sorry about that. You must have had it rough with him.”I was surprised to hear the Almighty Alpha telling me sorry. He was ruthless back then – issuing commands and up till now, wearing a frown.“I did everything to make my father proud of me. But I couldn’t measure up. Ever felt that way?”“My father killed my beloved. So I can relate. Even the woman I chose back then was not good enough for him.”“Oh my! Why would he kill her?”“Story for another. Have you any mate?”The question came unexpectedly to me.“
Alpha Bram’s POVIt was my wedding night. I was supposed to be happy but I wasn’t.I had always imagined spending my life with Swara. Not her evil twin sister.I was unhappy with how my life was turning out.Soon I had to see a therapist or I’d live a shadow of myself.“What are you thinking about, my love?”Saloni had come to join me on the bed.If only she knew how disgusted I felt towards her.Funny how before marriage, I couldn't bear the thought of sleeping with her.But now she was repulsive to me.I couldn’t believe I had the erection to cheat on Swara with her.“I’m so happy our dream wedding came true.” Saloni blushed as she wrapped her arms around him.“True,” I responded dryly. It was then she looked up at me.“Something must be bothering you. Why do you look so gloomy?”I wasn’t ready for her suspicious eyes. So I decided to act excited.“It’s just the fatigue from the wedding, my love. Come here and kiss me.” I emphatically placed my hands on her lips. She took my offer a
Swara’s POV It’s hard to admit. Alpha Reon and I got along so well. He treated me better than a wife. I guess he was trying to make me trust him. I had my reservations. But I showed my appreciation. “I wish I could find my biological father. I guess Alpha Miles wasn’t lying about that part.” I was munching on some snacks that lay at the centre of the dining table. Alpha Reon spoilt me rotten with a variety of meals and snacks. “Did he leave you his contact information?” Reon was concerned for me. “He mentioned he’d send me an email once I reached the airport. He lied.” “Now that he wants you dead, you dare not ask him.” “Do you think you could travel home and find out details for me?!” My eyes lit up. I asked as soon as the idea dropped in my head. “Out of the blues, you need me to do a second favour?” “Favours don’t come easy. I promise to do anything you ask me except marry you.” “I already told you I won’t ask you for now. Why do you dread marriage so much?” “My parents
Swara’s POV “So, you were bringing me to the temple all along?” I sighed. “Are you disappointed?” “Thinking about it now – how long would I hide my death? Soon people will hear word that I’m alive.” I reasoned, guessing the temple had something to do with it. “You are thinking like me. I want you to hide in this temple in the meantime. Till I’m back from teaching your ex-lover and father a lesson.” “I thought you were going back to find information on my biological father?” “Oh, and that too.” He had a mischievous look on his face. “When will you be back?” “Maybe in 6 months.” “What will you be doing at New Crystal for 6 months?!” I almost screamed. “Shhhh! You don’t scream in a temple else the Moon Goddess might turn you to a ritual bowl.” “I’m not a kid. Who are you deceiving?” I pouted. “Not only kids can be deceived.” “Sage Reon.” I teased. “You’ve got so many wise words that you just throw them at random.” “Yes, dear. That’s how I became an Alpha king. And you a runa
Swara’s POVHe looked like an Elder of the court. With the vast age difference, he bowed in reverence to Alpha Reon. And I instinctively bowed to greet him.“Hello, young lady.” He responded to my greeting. “Hope you are a lot better now.”Then it hit me.He was the doctor who had attended to me. The pack doctor would be having extra lessons with me on wolf strength. But how could this old feeble man teach me how to fight and maximize my wolf strength?“Thank you for last time, Doc.” I bowed again.“No need for such courtesy, my Lady.”He was treating me like a reverend guest of Reon. How many people knew we were second-chance mates?Surely the pack doctor knew with the way he honoured me almost as much as Alpha Reon.I leaned close to Reon’s ear and whispered. “I thought you came to show me the temple.”“And the pack doctor in it. You start training tomorrow. I will be making the trip tomorrow too.”“So soon.” I was excited.“So soon.” He mimicked in a baby voice and I couldn’t help
Swara’s POV“Hi, Swara. Nice to meet you.” She stretched out her manicured right hand to me.I received her handshake wondering how she knew my name.“Nice to meet you huh…” Trying to get her name.“Olivia is the name. I run this small business?”Was she kidding me? She was calling SWAT a small business? SWAT is the biggest deal to ever happen to me. And to be getting it on a platter of gold!Damn. I was moved to tears.“Nice meeting you Olivia. I just want to say you’re a genius. You are about to change my life.” I mean every word I said.“Not to mention. I can empathise with you. I was blessed with a weak wolf too. There was no place in the world for us. But here I am – I’ve been in the army and making a name for myself.”I smiled – admiring her tenaciousness. No wonder Alpha Reon needed to do business with her. She was smart and worthy of every side attraction.“I guess we are transparent.” Alpha Reon announced himself – his childish and playful mannerisms in full glare.I guess he
