"Ready?" asked Lea, examining the contents of Luke's bag carefully. "Didn't you forget your gym clothes and small towel, honey?"

"I've got it in the front of the bag, Mom," Dylan said, running his fingers through his hair.

"A water bottle?"

"That is, too."

"Hm, alright. You're ready to go then."

Jayden came out of the room buttoning his shirt. "Baby, are you sure you don't want to come?"

"No, babe, I already got those old clothes out of the closet and if I don't get them sorted soon, I'm going to lose any more time doing it."

"Fine. I'll take Luke to school, stop by the convenience store to get your order, then come back quickly and help you clean out your cupboards," Jayden said.

"You didn't work today?" Lea asked.

"No. I decided to take the day off today to accompany you to do the housecleaning."

Lea smiled widely and kissed Jayden's cheek gently, then knelt down and kissed Luke's forehead. "Happy studying, honey, and enjoy your day at school with your friends."
