CHAPTER FORTY FIVE

ANYA

"For the umpteenth time, Alessia. Can you drive like a sane person?” I asked, my grip tightening on the armrest as she sped through traffic.

She glanced at me with a mischievous grin, her wild driving seemingly fueled by the loud music blasting through the car.

"I am telling you, Anya. This is how I drive. You better get used to it!" she yelled over the noise.

Shaking my head, I quickly reached for the volume control and lowered the music. It was some strange song with incomprehensible lyrics that didn't appeal to me at all.

As we continued our reckless journey, I couldn't help but feel a mix of thrill and terror. Alessia's driving was definitely not for the faint-hearted.

However, I trusted her enough to know that she wouldn't put us in any real danger, at least I hoped so. In the midst of all the chaos, I found myself lost in my own thoughts.

The lyrics of the song still echoed in my mind: "I really don't want to remain in this world

So, would you stay and hold my hand?
