Chapter eight four

Selena

I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing, disrupting the peaceful silence of the morning. The maids brought in a beautiful bouquet, and there it was – a card with his name on it. "Angel." I scoffed at the irony of it all.

Furious, I dialed his number, my frustration evident in my voice. "What do you think you're doing, Angel? Sending me flowers won't change anything!"

He attempted to explain, but I wasn't having any of it. I unleashed my anger, yelling at him for meddling in my life. "I don't need your flowers, your interference, or anything from you. Stay out of my business!"

Before he could respond, I hung up, not giving him the satisfaction of having the last word. The flowers, now a symbol of his unwanted presence, were cast aside, forgotten.

Later that day, I found myself immersed in work, attempting to push aside the lingering annoyance caused by Angel's audacious gesture. My phone buzzed with a message, and against my better judgment, I checked it. Angel, again.
