Chapter ninety three

Selena

I woke up to the soft sunlight filtering through the curtains, the remnants of yesterday's adventures still lingering in the air. A sense of contentment washed over me as I recalled the laughter, the circus magic, and the unexpected friendship with Charlie.

Deciding to check on Angel, I made my way to his room. The anticipation of another day filled with shared moments turned into concern when I found him in bed, looking pale and unwell. My heart skipped a beat, and a wave of worry swept over me.

"Angel, you don't look well. What happened?" I asked, my voice filled with genuine concern.

He mustered a weak smile, trying to downplay his condition. "I think I just caught a bug. Nothing serious, just need some rest."

I couldn't shake off the worry, watching him lie there, visibly exhausted. "Are you sure you don't need anything? I can make you some tea or grab some medicine."

He appreciated the gesture but insisted, "I appreciate it, Selena, but I just need some rest. I'll be fine.
