BACKGROUND

" if you keep pacing around the room , it still does not bring back your daughter, I am sure she is doing fine somewhere she is  .  " 

Mr Raymond said to his wife who looked haggard worrying about her child since last night .

  " Loveth has never done this before and  our daughter , you mean ?  , you don't even seem worried about Loveth . " 

Mrs  Raymond asked as she turned to face her husband quickly looking surprised at his relaxed tone .

 " fine ,  our daughter , all she did while around was to cause trouble and sleep with every guy in New York ,  not to talk of her excessive spendings , you should be glad she decided to leave home , after all she is not a child anymore , she can take care of herself . "

 Mr Raymond said with annoyance " so a child we both watched grow up for twenty six years disappeared and all you can say is that I should be glad , are you like this because Loveth is not our blood . " 

Mrs Raymond pointed her fingers angrily at her husband who was interested more on his papers he was reading .

 " I wish you had your children before we adopted that drunkard , now it everywhere on paper that she is missing , you need to stop pacing around. I am sure she is somewhere having fun with a man . "

 Mr Raymond said as he closed the paper and beckoned to his wife to sit beside him .

" honey , Loveth is still our daughter , you know how much I love her ,her phone is not even going through and you think she is having fun , I just hope she is alright. "

 Mrs Raymond sat beside her husband as she sighs " your eyes are red and swollen  , you should not cry over issues like this  , I will try my best to find her , if that will make you happy but you need to promise me you won't cry anymore . " 

Mrs Raymond lied to his wife as he draws her closer " I hope the police find her  , they promised to come over today , I am sure  they will be here soon. "

 Mrs Raymond said happily as she rested comfortably on the sofa .

 " you should be asking me about how I took care of my bankruptcy , you did not bother about it since I told you I sorted it out .  " 

Mr Raymond asked his wife to distract her from thinking about Loveth which was obviously pissing him off .

  " I wanted to ask , I just keep thinking about Loveth ,I am very sorry honey .

" Mrs Raymond said innocently patting him gently on his shoulder with a broad forceful smile .

 " let's leave Loveth for now , actually I got it all fixed , and guess what I do not think I will have any issue of bankrupt for more than ten years , we need to celebrate this honey . "

 Mr Raymond said happily to Mrs Raymond who immediately jumped with happiness.

 " how did you do this honey , I thought you had no hope for finance at all , this is a good new at least ." 

Mrs Raymond sat down as she waited for his response 

" actually it a secret , I will tell you another day , can I have a cup of coffee please . "

 Mr Raymond requested quickly to avoid further questions , the door rang three seconds after Mrs Raymond had gone to prepare the coffee 

 " that must be the police , they will need to check Loveth room and ask some questions  I guess  , here is your coffee , I will attend to them . " 

Mrs Raymond saw two officers sitting in the visitor's living room already  , she signalled to the housekeeper to bring them something to drink as she formed her hand into cup and drank to the young girl .

 " hello Mrs Raymond , I am detective Laryor and my colleague here is Lieutenant Benson.

 " Mrs Raymond shakes them and sat down quickly.

" my husband is a little bit busy right now but you can talk to  .... "

 Mr Raymond cuts her off before she could finish .

" I am here , you can carry on with  your investigation , we hope you find our daughter soon . "

 Mr Raymond sat closely  beside his wife comfortably after talking , the housekeeper brought in the drink and left quickly. 

" what kind of child was Loveth , we just need a brief detail about her lifestyle and her friends too , we believe it will help us with our investigation . " 

Detective Laryor asked the couple waiting patiently for who will speak first.

 " my daughter is not the type to leave home even when she is unhappy , she loves her siblings so much , I am sure my daughter was kidna_pped , please do all you can to find her please . "

  Mrs Raymond managed to finish as she burst into tears again before Mr Raymond took it up to continue.

 " Actually , Loveth drinks , sleeps around , she hardly sleeps at home , as a matter of fact , I think she is hiding somewhere happily hoping we do not find her , I do not believe she was kidnapped , I am hoping we find her too but I have to be sincere so we can find her , thought you like Loveth . " 

Mr Raymond said quickly snubbing his wife aggressive side glances and signs .

 " okay we will like to search her room , please we will need your permission , can you take us to Loveth 's room  ."

Detective Laryor stood up immediately

 " yes you can , come with me . "

 Mrs Raymond led them quickly to Loveth room trying hard not to cry .

 " I will be waiting downstairs officer , I don't want to stay here . " 

Mrs Raymond left the room  quickly to prevent tears from falling on her  cheeks.

 " honey why did you say horrible lies about a missing child , are you trying to discourage the police from looking for our daughter, you are suppose to tell the truth . " 

Mrs Raymond asked angrily as she sight her husband walking up the stairs to his room .

" of course I told the simple truth ,  I need some rest woman , I told you I am not interested in this  issue anymore  , if you have anything better to talk about let me know . " 

Mr Raymond walked pass her quickly as he head towards his room only to stop at the officer's  outburst.

 " we found this letter on Loveth desk , I think you need to see this ." detective Laryor opened the letter and began to read it out : 

   Dear mom and dad ,

    I want to appreciate you for always   loving me and been there . Recently I found out you were not my birth parents , I was sad , I wish you had told me the truth , I am sorry but I have to leave home and look for my birth parents . please try to understand me. I love you mum and I will always do . Do not look for me I am far away .

                                                                                           Your daughter.

                                                                                    Loveth.

                                                    

Mrs Raymond fell on the stairs  after hearing the content of the letter holding her chest painfully .

" how could you do this to me Loveth ,I caused this .  " 

she cried painfully holding her husband who immediately lifted her up quickly wiping tears off her face .

" we will come back another time , if we find any other evidence , we will keep you informed , thank you for your cooperation  . "

 Detective Laryor said as she beckoned on her colleague to lead the way . " see you another time . 

" Mr Raymond responded  " did Loveth really write that letter ? , Loveth could  not have written that honey  ." 

Mrs Raymond managed to ask amidst tears trying to arrange her emotions .

 " who else would have done that then, do you think I did ? . "

 Mr Raymond replied quickly .

" I think you need to rest now , you look so pathetic , we will find her , just give the police time . "

 Mr Raymond said as he lifted her upright

 " I am crying because her birth parents her dead , we still have her inheritance too , I just wished we had told her everything earlier , I was just thinking she was happy and need not know about it  till she could handle it , but  honey do you think Loveth is ever going to forgive us ? . "

 Mrs Raymond asked her husband who looked disgusted by her question .

" I think she needs to be grateful instead , mind you , stop pissing me off with this whole Loveth issue , she is no longer a child , I am beginning to feel irritated . " 

Mr Raymond walked away quietly after giving his wife a final glance . Mrs Raymond sat quietly on the stairs shedding tears , her phone rung two minutes after , she raced to pick it praying silently it was Loveth but to her disappointment it was Betty .

" hello Mrs Raymond I am very sorry about Loveth , I hope you are doing well ?, I should not have left her last night ." Betty's tone was so low that Mrs Raymond easily deduced she must have been so worried too .

" I am sure we will find her Betty, Loveth will come back home , stop blaming yourself honey .  "

Mrs Raymond assured Betty with the  little faith she had left in her.

 " I just left the police station , I gave some information about last night to the police , I am sure she will be found , I remember a man staring at Loveth last night he must have done this . "

 Betty said quickly " thank you so much Betty ,  how is your mother doing , I should have called earlier I totally forgot ,  I am sorry dear . " 

Mrs Raymond managed to digress from Loveth issue .

" she is better now , still on medication though , I will call you another time ma'am  , please make sure you rest . " 

Betty wished she could make her feel better but she knew no idea at all.

 " okay I will , bye honey  ." 

Mrs Raymond managed to reply " okay ma'am ." 

Betty replied then hung up .Betty sighed hard after dropping the call she  which she had not left Loveth alone at the club the other night , now Loveth is no where to be found because of her , she entered the taxi waiting for her as she head for her house in deep thoughts hoping Loveth is found soon.

 " where are you Loveth." Betty murmured to herself.
