On Monday morning I woke up at 5am and I got changed and I went for a one and half hour jog around the town and then back to the house again. I went upstairs to my room and I had a shower and I got dressed in a gray short sleeved baggy top that looked three sizes too big on me, which it was meant to, that said 'East Hampton New York' on the front of it and white shorts and white slip on shoes. The sleeves of the shirt came to almost my elbow but that was the style. It was meant to look really baggy. I put everything into my bag and I headed down to the kitchen and I grabbed a cup of coffee before my mom walked into the room. "A lot of the patients at the hospital have been asking for you. Do you think you could stop by this afternoon?" She asked. "I didn't do anything special. I just did what any normal person would do. I made sure that they didn't die." I say. "I know. But they are still grateful for what you did. They wouldn't expect that from a teenage girl." She says. "I w
I didn't know what to make of Alpha Jackson being here. He couldn't be here. Not for us. He hates us. Why would he want us to go back to his pack? It made no sense to me. He ordered his entire pack to shun us, which I didn't even know. Alpha Asher said that. I thought they just hated us. But I guess it was more his doing then anything else. You're not allowed to go against the Alpha otherwise there are serious consequences. And then a thought suddenly hit me. "My mother." I said to Alpha Asher. "I'll head over to the hospital right now and get her to do the same thing. So that you two are now both a part of our pack." He says and I nod my head. Asher left the office and the principal was sitting behind his desk a little gobsmacked so I just headed to my class even though I was late. But the teacher knew that I had been called to the office and I sat down next to Spencer. "What happened?" She whispered. "It's a long story. Don't worry about it." I say back not wanting anyone t
I stayed at the hospital until the night shift of nurses arrived and then I headed home and I needed to take another shower and I made a coffee and sat outside with a smoke. All I could think about was my mother. Jackson has her. I know that he does. But I have no idea where he would have taken her. He would make it really hard to find her. He wouldn't want me to figure it out. 'Ivy. Are you there?' Alpha Asher asked through the link. 'Yeah. Have you found her?' I asked. 'No. But it looks like she made a run for it from the car. We're following her scent and there are little bits of torn clothing on trees as we pass them.' He says. 'She's a fighter. She would have fought with everything.' I say. 'Do you think it's a coincidence that the Rogues attacked at the same time?' He asked. 'No. You don't know what he's capable of. And what lengths he'll go to to get what he wants.' I insist. 'Why would he want your mother?' He asked, confused. 'I don't know. I have a feeling that
"Who's blood is that?" I stuttered out. "I'm not sure. I just needed you to be the first to know that we did find a body out of the borders. There wasn't much left. Our pathologist has the body now and I told him that it was the priority. I'll know the second that he knows who it is." Alpha Asher says to me. I felt the room spinning and my knees gave out from under me and Alpha Asher caught me before I hit the floor and he carried me over to the couch. The same sparks ignited wherever he touched me. But I couldn't concentrate on them right now. "We don't know that it's her." Alpha Asher tried to assure me. But all I felt was numb. Like my world was over. And I couldn't even think about it, let alone put a sentence together. So Alpha Asher just stayed there with me on the couch not saying anything. I wouldn't call it a comfortable silence, but it didn't bother me and I wasn't too focused on trying to find what to say to him while he was there with me. "How long until you find out?
"Oh my god." Alpha Asher muttered to himself. "Jeremiah Jameson." I say as tears roll down my face. "What?" He asked. "That man is Jeremiah Jameson. He's Jackson's Beta. The tattoo on his neck. It's a dead giveaway." I say. "He's not very smart to let a mark like that be photographed." Alpha Asher says. "No one has ever accused Jeremiah of being smart. He's just muscle and does what Jackson says. That's why he's the Beta. Because he doesn't question any order." I explained. "Alright. I'm going to take this photo to our tech people and see if they can try and pull anything off of it. Maybe there's something in the background or a reflection or something that might tell us where she is." Alpha Asher says. "Okay." I say. "Are you going to the hospital?" He asked. "Yeah. I'll go now." I say. "I'll meet you there." He says taking the photo and leaving the house. I needed to gather myself first. I knew that Jackson had her this whole time but why? What was so important abo
"Alpha Jackson." He says. "I think that's why he has her. Because she was going to ruin him." I say. "When did you find this?" He asked. "This morning when I trashed her room and office. There's a lot of stuff in her office from Jackson. Threatening letters, a bank statement and bank book where he was depositing money every month into an account that was in my name. None of it made sense until now. It was hush money. Because he was the bastard that raped her. And I am the bastard child that he needs to keep quiet." I say. "You're in more danger than I realized. If he is desperate to make sure that his dirty little secret doesn't come out." He says. "I know. But we don't even know where the hell he is. He could be anywhere between here and West Virginia. And it's not like I'm his oldest kid. I don't have any right to his pack. The only thing he has is that he's worried I am the proof that he raped my mother." I say. "We will find him for that and I will deliver him to the werew
'Asher.' I screamed through the link. But there was still no response. Why was he blocking me out? I didn't understand why he would just disappear on me like that. "No one is coming to save you. Your precious little Alpha has been put down." Jeremiah says and I let out a whine at hearing that. "Relax. He's not dead. Just enough wolfsbane to keep him knocking out for a few hours." Jeremiah says. ‘Sawyer. Declan. Bentley.' I screamed through the mindlink. 'I'm trapped. They've knocked out the Alpha.' I panicked. "What is the poor little wolf going to do? She's trapped and helpless. Just like your mother was when I caught her." Jeremiah announced. And I let out a vicious growl baring my teeth. I was ready to rip his head off for that. "Don't be like that. We can all get along if you would just calm down. Otherwise we will have to knock you out as well." He says and I see the man holding the dart gun. I couldn't even get my teeth around the netting to try and chew myself out of it.
I was on the floor crying. No matter what I did I couldn't stop. I was shaking, I was hysterical. There was nothing anyone could do for me. One of the guards brought that women out of his office who said that they should get rid of me and Alpha Asher growled when he saw her. "Just take her to the cell for now. I don't have time to deal with her." He ordered. So the guard took her towards the basement stairs. Cole and Asher helped me up and they took me to my room but that didn't help any. I still couldn't calm down. I could tell that they were mind linking each other because they couldn't talk freely about this in front of me, but neither of them would leave my side. My phone started ringing and Asher grabbed it and noticed the number as the same prank phone call that had been calling me. "Listen to me, you son of a bitch. You already killed her mother, leave her the f**k alone or I will find you and rip your f**king throat out." Alpha Asher yelled into the phone before he hun
