Chapter 39: A Call From Home; The Dying Alpha.

Sebastian’s POV

"Jeez, can't it wait?” I sighed nonstop.

My phone buzzed on my office desk for the umpteenth time. Tired of the incessant call, I reached out to grab it and looked at the caller. It was a private number. Both curious and anxious, I swiped the answer button, put the call on speaker, and dropped the phone on my desk.

"Sebastian, it's your mum...” My mother’s sweet and frail voice boomed from the speaker.

What the fuck! I could swear I wasn’t expecting her to be the caller. Maybe Jasmine’s lover... He had scary reasons to if he learned I was threatening his wife. Or maybe Jasmine herself, but never my mother.

In haste, I picked up the phone and removed it from the speaker. If my mum was calling me with a private number, she definitely has some tea to spill which shouldn't get into the hearings of a third party, and knowing how nosy some staff... Dr. Kylie was, it was better safe than sorry.
