Chapter ninety-one

Roy slept in late and didn’t hear the knock on the door. He and Bryan had slept in a separate room the night before because Roy felt he wanted to be alone. A lot of things were happening and Roy needed space to clear his head. He wasn’t sure if he was truly comfortable with the new dynamics he had with Bryan.

The secrecy. He shuns him in public and then holds him at night. Although he wouldn’t admit it, Roy knew it hurt deeper than it sounded.

Then there was the issue about his past and their connection to Bryan’s parents. Something in him told him Bryan’s father had answers to all his questions but there was no way he could accost the man and shake the answers out of him.

So he had gone to sleep with a heavy heart.

Bryan pushed the door open after knocking for a while and saw that Roy was still asleep. He sighed, running a hand through his hair as he stood at the foot of Roy’s bed, gazing at his sleeping form. He couldn’t help but feel that Roy was slipping away from him and his hear
