I walked back to the room after a long chat with my father. I wasn't ready to meet my siblings or my mother yet, just seeing my father was enough.

 News about my rank and powers had obviously spread widely by now, and as much as my mother would have loved to meet me, I was sure that she was holding back because of fear. I was way above her in rank and I hated the way she treated my father. Hunter understood her well and reasoned with her, but I didn't.
