Book 2: Chapter 40-Pity

“Hello!” Jessica greeted Beth enthusiastically.

“It’s you, dear. You need something?” Even though she was sad, Beth still smiled at the girl.

“I noticed how sad you were, so I approached you. Did you miss your children?”

Beth nodded tearfully. She feels the loss of her children more now because Sunshine’s attention is no longer on her. She can no longer take care of her because her husband is there.

“Can you believe that Sunshine is not carrying Jake’s baby?”

Beth was stunned, and stared at the woman she knew to be Sunshine’s sister.

“I know Jake, and he was really close to Sunshine back then. I also know that he and my sister were seeing each other secretly. It’s just sad that my sister has forgotten about him."

Beth was relieved, and someone believed that Sunshine was carrying her grandchild.

Jessica smiled when she saw the reaction on the lady’s face. She patted her palm. “If you need someone to talk to, I’m right here.”
