ANOTHER MAN.

When it was time for dinner, Payton did not get out of her room and only lay in her bed till it was very late in the night.

Tiana was worried about her but Payton did not say anything and only said that she was tired and nothing more.

Earlier, a bit after King had his dinner, he had sent Tiana and then asked her why Payton did not have dinner.

Tiana told him she did not know why either and later, King called his investigator to look into what Payton did after she left his company in the afternoon.

Payton rolled on her back and then sat up lazily.

“Are you okay?” Tiana moved over to her.

“Did I worry you? I’m sorry,” she said and stared at the wall clock.

“It is past nine, you should have retired to your quarter,” Payton said as she stooped up.

“No, not when you are like this,” Tiana shook her head.

“Or did the boss offend you?”

“King?” Payton furrowed her brows and stood up.

“That man will be the last person to put me in this mood,” she burst into laughter.
