Anna's POV

I walked through the dimly lit hallway, the sound of my footsteps echoing against the marble floor. The air was heavy with anticipation, and a shiver ran down my spine. The events of the past few days had left me on edge, and a sense of unease gnawed at my every step.

As I approached the door at the end of the hallway, my heart pounded in my chest. Behind that door, the answers awaited—answers that could shatter the fragile world I had built with Victor. The man who had been my rock, my protector, my love. But as I stood there, my hand hovering over the doorknob, doubt and fear crept into my mind. What if the truth was too painful to bear?

Summoning my resolve, I twisted the knob and pushed the door open, revealing a small room illuminated by a single desk lamp. Sitting at the desk was a figure I had always known as Victor's loyal bodyguard, Alexander. His piercing gaze met mine, and there was a heaviness in his eyes that mirrored my own.
