I APOLOGIZE

The following morning, the loud banging on the door could bee heard but none of the sisters were ready to get up yet. 

"I'm unemployed and this is the best sleep I've gotten in years. No way in hell am I getting up" Mira muttered turning around in her bed and placing a pillow over her head. 

Mirabel descended down from her room upstairs and walked into Mira's room slowly tapping her. "Mira"

"Get lost" Mira grumbled sleepily. 

"Go and answer the door"

Mira removed the pillow from her head. "Are you kidding me? You came all the way downstairs from your room, why couldn't you do it instead?"

"I have a date soon"

Mira grumbled before standing up from her bed and walking towards the door. She turned on the knob. "Who is-"

She gasped as she slammed the door close. 

"What is this? Why is Kyle outside my door?" She pinched herself to confirm if she was dreaming but she wasn't. 

Mira tugged at her hair. " I can't believe I opened the door looking like this". Kyle knocked on the door once more. 

"Mira, the door" Mirabel grumbled from within her room. 

Mira opened the door. "What is it? what do you want?" She asked eager to chase Kyle away. 

"I want to have a word with you-" Kyle was cut off by a dragging footsteps heading towards them. 

"Mira who is by the door" Mirabel asked but she was surprised to see that Mira wasn't by the door. 

Mira had taken Kyle's hand and hid behind the house. 

This gesture made him remember that rainy day 10 years ago. Where Mira had promised to protect him from people who would body shame him. 

Kyle stared at Mira. When she noticed that her sister had gone back inside, Mira sighed in relief as she faced kyle. "Now, can you please leav-"

"I apologize" Kyle said cutting her off. "Please come back to the office."

Mira blinked her eyes rapidly as she couldn't believe what she'd just heard. "No, I'm not coming back. Coming back to work as a cleaner isn't so appealing, sir"

"You'll get to do your normal work at the marketing department, I promise you"

Mira couldn't control her heartbeat. He was saying all these because he think she's her sister. 

She shouldn't be deceived. 

"Mira, are you out there?" Mirabel called from inside. 

"Okay, I'll be there tomorrow so now please go" Mira hastily pushed Kyle as she headed back inside. 

"Mira, I've been looking for you everywhere" Mirabel said. 

"You couldn't stand up to open the door but yet you were looking for me everywhere?"

Mirabel smiled. "Your got me. I heard a male voice around, who was it?"

"It was just my boss. He came to give me an earful for not turning up at work"

"Your boss must really like you, huh? For him to come all this way."

Mira waved her hand in the air. "Perish that thought. Anyways, I'm going to prepare for work now. Goodluck with your date"

Mirabel winked. "I don't need luck"

In the company, Valentina sighed. "hey, do you think Mira would be coming back?"

"No way. Didn't you hear how heated their argument was?" Dwayne said shaking his head. "I doubt that"

"Hey, gossip gang. Let's focus on work , shall we?" Andrea, the head of the marketing department said hitting a book on their desk and calling them to order. "Boss won't be happy to see you guys slacking off"

Dwayne faced Valentina "Speaking of boss, I haven't seen him since he left yesterday" 

"Boss can take care of himself. I'm more worried about Andrew. You could tell he'd fallen for Mira"

A cough behind them made them jump as they saw Kyle. 

"B-Boss" Valentina stuttered. "We were just-"

Kyle looked around. "Where's Andrew?"

"We haven't seen him yet" Dwayne replied. Kyle nodded his head. 

"Do you work properly" he said before walking off to his office. 

Valentina breathed out heavily. "I was scared"

"Me too" Dwayne agreed before looking out towards the door. "Mira!"

"Mira?" Valentina followed his gaze as she saw the bubbly Mira make her way into the office. 

"Good morning, everyone"she said with all smiles. 

"What happened?" Valentina grumbled as she made her way towards Mira to hug her. 

"It's nothing"

"Are you back for good now?"

Mira nodded her head. "Yes"

Dwayne shyly raised up his hand at her. "Mira, hello"

"Dwayne, hello. Have you been well?"

"Yes but-"

"Mira, tell us all the details. How are you back so suddenly?"

"Well-"The loud crashing down of papers could be heard as Mira turned around. 

She saw Andrew standing fixed in his position as though he'd seen a ghost. "M-Mira" he stuttered before making his way towards her and embracing her. 

Everyone gasped. What was happening?. 

Kyle who was watching the scene from his office balled his fist as he recalled Valentina's previous words; "I'm more worried about Andrew. You could tell he'd fallen for Mira"

Kyle dropped the file on his hands and moved towards Andrew and Mira and broke them apart. "It's time to work"

"Yes" Andrew said finally remembered his location. 

Mira who was surprised by his gesture was finally able to find the courage to move to her desk. 

"Valentina, what's the daily?" Kyle asked. 

"From the new lipgloss product 'Enchanteur' we have 50 reviews and 5 of them complained about the same thing."

"And what's that?"

"The taste of the lipgloss. These 5 people seems to be social media influencers as they took it to their channels too" Valentina said playing a video that shows a lady in her twenties complaining about their new product. 

"Miss Mira, what do you suggest we do?" Kyle asked. 

"Huh?" Mira said confused. 

"You have two degrees in hubspot so what do you suggest we do?"

"Uh, first" Mira faced Valentina."What was the flavor used to make the lipgloss"

"Watermelon"Dwayne replied.

"Then, I suggest we change the flavor to something everyone likes like-"

"Apple" Andrew interjected with beaming eyes unable to hide his smile at her wonderful idea. 

"Yes or cinder. What do you think, sir?"

Kyle intertwined his fingers trying to suppress his excitement. Once again, she'd surprised him.

"Miss Andrea" Kyle said calling the head of the marketing department. 

"Yes sir"

"You heard her. Change the flavor of the lipgloss"

"Yes sir"

"Meeting dismissed" Kyle said standing up "oh and Miss Mira?"

"Yes, sir?"

"Not bad" he said before heading to his office as  Everyone clapped for Mira.
