Chapter 12: Secret Meeting at the Coffee Store

Margret entered the coffee store with a disguised appearance and made her way directly to the only private room in the establishment. She knocked twice on the door, and a deep voice from within granted her permission to enter.

Upon opening the door, she found a man with a stoic facial expression seated firmly in a chair. "You're here, Margaret. I ordered some coffee for us," he said to her. She politely declined, shaking her head and explaining that she had already consumed too much for the day and wouldn't be partaking in any more.

Silver chuckled in response to Margret's rejection and quipped, "You're still wary of me, Margret. Why don't you trust me? We've known each other for years now, and you're like a sister to me."

Margret forced a smile and replied in a perfunctory manner, "I'm not wary of you. I just have an upset stomach. Can we talk now?"

Silver nodded, and his demeanour shifted drastically. Margret placed photos of Millicent Ferguson on the table.
