Charles and Joseph met up at their usual joint where Joseph was downing alcohol uncontrollably. He was furious about the mess that backfired on him. Although she had talked to her mother and confirmed that she was fine, sleep left her eyes for the night. She kept thinking about who could be responsible for the incident that had happened to her mom, but couldn’t pinpoint anyone. Eddy had always tried to talk to Emily after the incident with Amber, but for some reason he didn’t know, she was avoiding him. She rarely picks up his calls and even when she does, and he asks to meet up, she will come up with an excuse that she’s busy or has classes to attend. He hated how he was hanging between them because Emily had always been loud about how she couldn’t wait for him to break up with Amber, so she could have him for herself. After Amber broke up with Eddy and took up Tom’s offer, she was really invested in arts that she went to public libraries, art exhibitions, museums and other art-related events in order to fit into the art world by gaining knowledge and experience, but little did she know Eddy was stalking her. He wondered why she suddenly became invested in things like that, but when he couldn’t find any answer to his question after tailing her for a few days, he finally planned to give up. He had ignited his car’s engine that afternoon when she came out of the house and got into Tom’s car on the other side of the street. “What is he doing here? Joseph brooded over the information he got from Eddy and knew if he dug deeper, he would surely find something. The mention of a secret house intrigued him so much, he wondered when Tom got a house and even if he did, what was he using it for that he would there with his secretary during the weekends? “I know they are dating, but that is just another level of dirtiness. Tom was going through some documents in his office when he noticed a particular file missing. He went to check Amber’s desk at her office and found it beside the mini calendar on her table. He was about to leave for his office when he noticed a small circle on the calendar. Upon checking well, he saw that it was her birthday she circled. He just went back to his office without adding any meaning to it but after sometimes, it began to linger in his mind. He pondered about what to get her as a birthday gift, and he realized that he had never gifted her one. He made a reservation at the restaurant and told them to get a cake ready for that day. Tom grinned all the way home. He couldn’t explain why he was feeling so happy, but the thought of Amber brought a smile to his face anytime her face came to his mind. He didn’t even know when Anita came in to check up on him while bringing along a plate of sliced fruit. “You hate to have late night food, but you came in late, so how about some fruits?” Anita announced as she entered the room, but the grinning Tom caught her off-guard.
