Haneefah POV.
I worm my way through the mass of bodies congregating at the entrance of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, sighing in irritation. Am late for work and it seems like no one is in a hurry to get to his/her own business. Figure that.
Yeah! After much persuasion, I was allowed to continue going to work, promising them that I'll be fine.
Actually staying at home wouldn't have helped me in any way. Infact staying at home would definitely keep me psychologically deranged. I just have to keep myself busy by doing what I love the most.
"Oi ! Wasai!"
I whip around at the sound of my name, my eyes already narrowed to scold the person who used my last name.
The culprit was of course my sunshine.I briskly walked into her arms as she engulfed me into a hug.
"Why are you here?" I asked her with a wide grin. I swear
Haneefah POV. I stared at the photo in front of me, reminiscing about all our happy moments. He looked so peaceful and genuinely happy in the picture so different from the man he became now. I missed him so much, so very much that every second without him hurts like a thorn stuck in my throat. I felt someone hugged me from behind, stopping my trail of thoughts. Turning around, I smiled at her worried figure. "Ikhee I'll be fine okay" I assured her. She kinda hooked up with that Khaleel guy and she is going on a date with him this evening. "I was looking for you Hanny and here you are staring at your husband's picture. I Know how you feel sunshine but just endure it for some more time and you'll be back to your husband in no time." She said soothingly massaging my hair. " Hey! You have a date this Evening. How do you expect to have a peaceful date if your are this worr
HANEEFAH POV.He kept on crying and I continued to soothingly Pat his back. I have never seen him this vulnerable. Then, I made up my mind. I needed to do what needs to be done.I was about talking when I heard Yaya haneef." Your silence means one thing hanny, you want both and you are having a hard time deciding. So I am going support you as a brother, I realized that am being selfish all these while. I am ready to let you go Haneefah, you also deserve happiness and you shall find it" he said, wiping his tears with a handkerchief."Take a chill pill yaya" I said chuckling. "I know what I want and it's spending the rest of my life with you till death do us apart" I added, finally giving in to the waterworks." For real?" He asked with amusement." Yes Yaya for real. I love you and am okay with having even if it's a tiny p
IKHLAS POV.I thought my ears were starting to fail me, cause I heard her say something similar to my name.I stared at my best friend like she had suddenly grown two heads. I was waiting for her to burst out laughing and admit that she was joking but she looked so dead serious." Wait a sec, I don't get what you are trying to say. I should be the person or I should get the person for you?" I asked her, hoping with all my heart that it would be the latter." Yes Ikhlas. I want you to help me find happiness again, I want you to save my marriage. You are the only person that can do this without an ulterior motive. I don't mind sharing Haneef with you and I don't mind sharing you with haneef. It's a Win - Win situation for us Ikhee, for our friendship. We'll get to be with each other till death do us apart.I know am being selfish Ikhee but i
Ikhlas POV" Never!!!" My mother said, screaming at the top of her lungs. "Shey o fe bami ni oruko je ni? ( Do you want to spoil my reputation?)" She asked bitterly and all I could do was shake my head." Ah Oluwa ooo! Ikhlas iru omo wo lo fe ya? (Oh God! Ikhlas what type of child are you turning out to be?) Shey O fe da Ile eh ru ni? (Do you want to wreck her home) she asked me again and I still couldn't find words to justify what I told her.I looked across at my dad and he gave me a disappointed look." Ikh
Ikhlas POV. "Hey What about these?" Haneefah asked, holding a black lingerie up in the air making my cheeks beet red. I still couldn't get over the fact that lingeries were added in the betrothal box. " I don't need that one too. Take it out" I replied with a scoff, trying very hard to conceal the blush now evident on my cheeks. "You are the weirdest, stupidest, most moronic person I have ever let myself befriend" she sighed heavily after a long pause, with a look on her face that told me that she'd had enough of my idiotic tendencies. I couldn't blame her for that. I replied with an eyeroll, picking one of the cupcakes on the dresser, stuffing my mouth with it. " You just can't admit how excellently modest of a Bestfriend I am""There is nothing modest in this! She exclaimed. I honestly can't see the logic in your modest plan" she said, making quotation marks in the a
Ikhlas POVSix months later ♥️♥️I woke up to the faint sound of the Adhan (call for prayer) as the whistle-like sound of the breeze from my open window caresses my ears. I tore the covers off me and slowly got out of bed. The constant Facebook notifications and text messages popping up on my phone screen.Guess why! it's the 24th of April (my birthday). I happily got to the bathroom, performed Ablution and prayed Subh. As if on cue, my mother called and wished me a happy birthday. She showered her prayers on me and my family. My stomach grumbled, reminding me of the need to stuff something into it. I took an apple from my bedroom mini fridge, took a large bite from it as I scrolled through my page and replied to each of the faces whom had wish me a happy birthday. I wasn't really bothered to ge
Haneefah POV. "Wake up sleepyhead." A voice yells from downstairs. " Mhmm - mmm" I muttered, ignoring the voice. " She is not waking up" another voice called. " Splash her with icy cold water then" the first voice said. " And if she doesn't wake up still, tell her that her husband is back" I heard Ikhlas open the door but I ignored it and continued sleeping. "Hanny your husband is here" she said tapping me a bit to wake me up, earning a throaty groan from me before I turned my face to the other side of the bed and she tapped me again, harder this time. "Let me sleep stupid" I almost yell but I didn't. " She doesn't want to wake up" she yelled, obviously to Yaya haneef." Fine! You go get ready and I'll take care of her" yaya's voice nearer to my room. Ikhlas tore the c
Haneefah POVPreparations for Humaira and Fati wedding have been hectic, So many arrangements and plannings here and there. Today is the bridal shower and each of them looked beautiful.I am now eleven weeks into gestation which awoke the diminished hope in me. As the pregnancy is getting older, the chances of miscarriage was getting lower.Guess what!My mother in-law is becoming a bit nicer to me even though she is much warmer to Ikhlas, her choice of words when talking to me had gone from spiteful to normal. Believe me that is an achievement.I and Ikhlas both had our hennas drawn yesterday and she has been sulking and ranting that mine looked better than hers. I must say; Ikhlas is a blessing to our lives. The bridal shower went well, all we did was coordinate the food serving and cheer the dancers. Yaya strictly forbade dancing, so all we could do was watch
