9: Anybody Home?

The twins were growing tired. The sun was out and getting warmer as the minutes passed by.

“I'm thirsty,” Nate complained as he stopped to catch his breath, resting his hands on his hips as he exhaled.

“Just a few more houses and I promise we'll find him,” Nola sighed. She was also sweating and breathing heavily, but her plan was in motion, and she felt that she was close to finding a husband for her mother.

Miss Polly was parched, she promised herself that this would be the last time she did anything like this. Her bones just were too old for such strenuous activities anymore, plus the children were being odd when they knocked on doors where a gentleman would answer. She removed the bag pack on her back that she had most of the baked goods in, plus she had some water and juice packed in there for the kids. She plucked a bottled water from the bag. “Here you go, Nathan,” she handed the boy the bottle.

The story is nice. But people don’t normally give gems until like you have at least 30 chapters. Also I think regular update, say three or four days a week will get your story noticed more. I feel like I’ve been reading this book like a month now and only ten chapters. That’s not good.
