“Stay close to me, little bird and don’t speak with anyone.” Luca instructs lowly as we walked into a large hall.

I nod in responds, moving to his wave as he guides me through the multitude of people. I’d say we moved with ease but it was really people clearing the path for us as we sauntered forward and by us, I meant him, Luca. There were a lot of unknown and intimidating faces here but in reality, Luca was the true Alpha male here and he seemed much bigger than life itself.

Earlier, he mentioned that he didn’t attend these sort of events but it seemed even without his constant attendance everyone seemed to acknowledge him. Mostly, in the eyes of the men and in their gazes, held either fear, hate or reverence. His presence demanded attention and respect. Everyone was staring… at him… at us. At me. And I suddenly felt small and insignificant. I felt like a prey that had just stepped into the lair of beasts and I didn’t even amount to a piece offering.
