TO KILL A CROWN

“Come here, Sparkles! ” yelled another female voice from the mansion's door. The dog leaped to its feet and dashed towards the voice that beckoned it. Judy looked up to see her standing on the door, which was ajar and she stood close to it, her hand on the door frame. Sparkles run-up to the woman and licked her ankle, who bent down and picked up the dog in her arms and lowered him down to her chest, hugging him. Judy could tell that she was trying to comfort the dog from previous trauma but the animal was unphased by her affection. The woman continued to stroke the dog's back and soothed it to sleep.

Judy knew that this woman was the owner of the dog but she was hard to read. to her and brushed against her leg.

Judy knelt down and stroked the dog's tummy, which produced a humorous response from the dog as it rolled from side to side.
