-Chapter Twenty Seven-

Allison stomps away.

My son has this worried look on his face and he asks in concern. "Why is Ms. Allison angry, Mommy?"

"It's nothing baby," I say warily, pecking his cheek.

Eric shows up, ready to drive me home. 

He notices that I am in Ramon's sweater but fortunately for me, he doesn't say a word.

Instead he grins and asks, "can we go?"

Ramon looks at me quizzically as if begging me to choose him. But I look away and nod at Eric with a frown on my face.

"Yeah... Let's go," I mutter.

I set Roy's chocolate milk along with some muffins for breakfast on the table.
