CHAPTER SIX

And it was a really long one.

We danced, him in the lead because I wasn't experienced in dancing. I leisurely laid my head on his chest trying to calm my erratic heart, that was beating so loudly that I could hear it in my ears. His hand that was on my waist snaked up towards the back of my dress that was a little lower but was covered by my hair. His cold hand touched my back as I held my breath.

"Let loose" He whispered in my ear and my breath hitched. I took a deep breath. He chuckled at me. His deep voice took all over my senses and I gripped his coat tighter as a stray moan escaped my mouth.

"Not now" I managed between trying to shut myself up.

"Let's go somewhere else" He took my hand, leaving the song and guiding me through the waves of hundreds of people. Among them I spotted Dom, who was looking straight at the linked hands of me and Hayden. Ivy enthusiastically waved at me while Katie was busy blushing at something Jeremy was saying. We made our way outside the double doors. As soon as we entered he let go of my hand and I looked around stunned at the sight in front of me. White lilies covered the whole patio. I twirled around, turning my head towards Hayden who was bent on one knee, holding a blue velvet box in which an elegant emerald cut diamond ring was placed. It was a truly enchanting moment.

"I am not much of a speech person but I sure do know that when I met you, I was interested in you from the moment on and you gave me a lot of my firsts. I promise you that I will always be by your side, any cost. We will overcome our hurdles together and end it together. So, Miss James will you make me the happiest man alive, by saying yes?" He was speaking quite solemnly and his words truly touched my heart.

"Of course Mr. Daunter, I will. Now will you do the deed and make us the happiest couple alive on earth. I will surely make you the happiest man alive, for I know I am the best"  I replied reaching my hand out, which he clasped and slided the ring on. I giggled and hugged him. We broke our hug, staring deeply in each other's eyes. He leaned forward unintentionally and I covered the distance, our lips smashing. But just as we reached the climax, a loud thud was heard. We turned around to find a cat staring at us. Hayden chuckled and looked at me and I turned crimson red. I hid my face in his chest and his full of life laughter filled the patio. He grabbed the polaroid camera from the table and captured the moment in the camera. After a ton of pictures, we left the party without saying goodbye, for Hayden hated these parties where everyone faked themselves. I had to agree with him on that one because out of 100 % only 20% people were real. We sat in the car and made our way to Mc Donald's.

I made Hayden buy half of the menu. In my defense I was starving to death.  We ended up walking through Central Park. I was running, my heels in my hand as I challenged Hayden to catch me.

"You are so going to regret it once I catch you" He called out, walking lazily.

"Catch me first, DUH" I shouted at him. He smirked and his pace fastened, catching up to me easily as I giggled, running like a mad woman. He caught up to me, wrapping his hands around me and securing me in place.

"Hey" I whined going berserk to get out of his grip but it was strong on me.

"I told you there would be consequences" He whispered in my ear. Man, you should stop torturing me like this. My insides fluttered wildly every time he did that, but I never would admit that. I struggled and bit his arm. He backed off, looking at me astonished. I looked at him innocently. Instead of saying anything, he lunged at me and caught me, putting  me over his shoulder, he made his way out of the park.

"PUT ME DOWN, THIS INSTANCE"I was shouting like a banshee. But he placed me in the car seat and secured the seat belt. After seating in the car he made way towards his pent house even though I protested that I wanted to go to S.A.C. We entered the parking lot of the building. As the car stopped I tried to make a run for the elevator but damn those heels, I tripped. But wait, I had a knight in shining armor and he caught me before I could fall.

"Not too fast, I am right behind you" He chuckled, helping me up as I glared at him and in return he pecked me on my lips. Well, I guess I cannot win against him in this fight. The trip to his penthouse was nerve wracking. The tension between us was killing me while he seemed unbothered. We entered the penthouse and he took off his tie even though we were on the foyer. I gulped as I knew his intentions weren't quite nice. He was watching my every move like a lion watches his prey.

"Where is my room?" I asked him.

"Second room to the left" Was all he said, still watching my every move. I walked up the stairs and opened the room, gasping as I switched on the light. It was an aesthetic and charming room. With gold rose themed walls, It was a dream of any one. I opened another door that was a walk-in closet with varieties of clothes. I chose a long cotton baby pink dress and changed into it. Someone knocked on the door, I turned around to see Hayden. The tension between us arose but someone chose the moments to make their entry. Well, you want to know who. My stomach, it growled and he laughed making me more embarrassed. I glared at him and he pinched my cheeks. All that running had made me hungry.

"You are still hungry. Come on, let's get you something to eat '' He led the way towards his kitchen, which also was just as captivating  as the other rooms in the penthouse. He made some fettuccine pasta while I stared at him, shamelessly. He glanced at me and chuckled. I played my playlist in the background and enjoyed the music. As soon as he ended plating up, he walked up to me. I was twirling around to the beat of the music. He stopped in front of me and the song changed to Willow by Taylor Swift.

The song played on as we looked into each other eyes, drinking in every detail that surpassed us. We had met on a street and looked where the roads of life had bought us. We were not so familiar with each other but on the other hand we knew each other like we were childhood friends. The tension between us wasn't uncomfortable, it was something we both felt and we knew what it did to us. Our presence affected us in a way that we liked and enjoyed. He moved forward and placed his hands on my waist and we twirled to the music and I whispered the lyrics, falling deep into his ocean blue eyes.

He dunked me and I giggled, losing my attention on the song. He stared at my lips not long after placing a chastening kiss on my lips. Boy, this wasn't going to end nice. He let go of me and led me to the kitchen island. I who was hungry placed the fork in my mouth and the pasta just melted in my mouth and I moaned. His eyes darkened as he looked at me warningly. I shrugged like an innocent girl. It was so not my fault that he had a fine hand at cooking, okay.

I devoured two plates of pasta without any sign of slowing down. Hayden looked at me astonished at the speed of my eating. What? I have a big appetite and there is nothing wrong about that.

"What are you looking at, never seen a girl eat before?"  I questioned his piercing gaze.

"Nope, I have never seen a girl eat like a pig before" He emphasized on the word 'pig'.

"I don't eat like a pig" I emphasized on each and every word of my sentence.

"Oh really?" He leaned forward on the island.

"Mhm" I also leaned forward, gathering all the confidence I had. He reached forward, wiping a bit of sauce that I had on my left side of the mouth and licked it of his finger. An unfamiliar feeling started to gather at the pit of my stomach. Hayden sat back on his stool still smirking at my face, that was flushed red due to the thought that just occurred in my mind.

"You can go to bed, I won't eat you" He chuckled and I stuck my tongue out at him. I got up and  walked towards the stairs when I stopped at the noise of glass smashing.
