"I am quite okay ma'am but should I need your help I would be sure to let you know." Alessandro assured her.

"If you make me stay at this dinner for one more minute, I will explode in anger and I assure you that you don't want to see me angry." Rosa spoke to Alessandro through the mind link (a connection through which members of the same pack could communicate through the mind.)

"I am really sorry but I and my siblings must be on our way. We have urgent matters to attend to." Alessandro told Rosa's parents.

"Oh! It's okay Alpha, we have enjoyed your presence already." Rosa's father said.

"thanks for dinner ma'am" Ricciardo and Constanza said. They were already out of the house before Alessandro even stood up from the chair.

"thanks for dinner ma'am and sir." Alessandro bowed slightly before leaving the house. Rosa stood up to see him off.

"I will miss you, I wish you had stayed a little longer." Rosa said, her face in a sad pout.

'"I wish so too. But I have things to attend to. I promise one of these days we are going to hang out and have fun just like the old days." Alessandro assured her.

"promise?" she asked him.

"I promise." he told her.

Giovanni walked up to them. "Good evening Rosa" he greeted Rosa.

"Good evening Giovanni" she replied. For a brief moment, Alessandro could have sworn that there was an awkward air between the two of them.

"should I bring the car around?" he asked. He asked Alessandro.

"Yes." Alessandro replied.

Giovanni nodded and walked off to bring the car around.

"You know I have always meant to ask, what happened between you and Giovanni? You two were kind of close when we were kids." Alessandro asked Rosa.

"life happened. You can't be friends with someone forever." Rosa replied him.

"You are right, but that won't happen to us right?" Alessandro asked her.

"never we will always be friends forever." Rosa replied.

"see you later." he told her and kissed her on the cheek.

"bye bestie."

Rosa went back inside the house and Alessandro went to meet his siblings who were standing by his car waiting for him.

"finally! I thought you were going to go back inside with her." Ricciardo said when he reached them.

"seriously guys, you didn't need to leave like you were being pursued by vampires." Alessandro told them.

"I would rather be pursued by vampires than spend any time with Rosa." Constanza said.

"seriously Connie, I don't know what you have against Rosa, she is a nice person." Alessandro defended Rosa.

"You know for someone so intelligent, you always act so dense when it comes to Rosa. The personality she shows you is way different from the personality she shows others." Ricciardo told him.

"don't bother Ricciardo, you know he is colorblind when it comes to Rosa." Constanza said.

"are you two done?" Alessandro asked.

"yes we are." Ricciardo said.

"I will see you guys later, Connie thanks for styling my secretary. Twin, I want to see you in the office tomorrow."

"but is working from home not effective?" Ricciardo asked.

"it is. But you do realize, the company belongs to us right? The both of us and we need to show our face so you need to come in tomorrow so at least the staff know that you are still alive." Alessandro told him.

"fine, I will come tomorrow. Besides, I am interested in seeing this new werewolf secretary of yours."

"see you tomorrow." Alessandro said as he entered the car. Constanza and Ricciardo went to their respective cars and drove off.

Alessandro waited to be sure that they had left before he told Giovanni to drive.

"where are we going to sir?" Giovanni asked.

"back to the company, I still have a lot of work to do." he replied.

"of course sir."

"You can sleep in one of the staff quarters, i will call you when I am ready to go home." he told Giovanni.

"Yes sir." he replied and started the car, they drove in silence to the company.

Alessandro went up to his office when they arrived and Giovanni retired to the staff quarters.

He started working, the whole building was empty with the exemption of the security men.

When he was through with his work. He went to the mini bar in his office and poured himself a glass of whiskey.

He drank it and then he took the entire bottle to his table. He sat down and started to drink. As he drank, he opened his drawer and brought out a picture which was buried underneath files and documents.

He stared at the beautiful face in the picture.

"I miss you so much Jennie." he whispered, as he hugged the picture and relaxed in his seat.

"they say I am to marry again, nut how do I tell them that I am not yet over you. How do I say that I am still scared that I would lose someone I love. I am an alpha, I am not supposed to be scared yet I am so fricking scared."

He hugged the picture closer to himself and in the dim lighting of the office, the powerful alpha of new lanterns pack cried.

Later in the early hours of the morning, he called Giovanni and he drove him home.

Alessandro got home, showered and got ready for work. Giovanni had already gone to pick Lilian up so he waited for him to come back.
