CHAPTER 69 - GET RID OF THE HUMAN

POV: SOPHIE

After Harvey's strange outbreak, the days passed quickly without any sign of him. On the third night, I gave up on going to his room and stayed in mine, waiting for him to come and explain, but that never happened.

I was playing with Conan, who had grown a lot. Time flew by, and my heart ached every time I thought about having to stay away from his innocence and love for months. It was a tough decision but necessary, considering that darkness threatened to engulf him as well, and I wouldn't allow that to happen.

When Denver returned with me after healing my ears, he told me about the legend. None of it made sense in my head. If all that were true, then our mother used us as pawns for the shadows. Why would she do that? Her behavior had always been peculiar and hard to understand, but to give away her own daughters?
