6 - I'll Play My Part

As I sit on the cold floor of my cage, a storm brews within me. My captors, though undeniably attractive, have become the focus of my simmering hatred. They’ve given me a cage with comforts—a soft bed, food, water, even a working toilet—but here I am, sitting in my own filth, seething with anger and plotting my next move.

The door swings open, and the leader, Soren, strides in, his presence alone enough to make the air feel heavier. I scramble to my feet, not wanting to give him the satisfaction of seeing me in any position that might suggest weakness.

My thoughts are interrupted as Soren strides in, the embodiment of dark, intimidating allure. His presence alone commands attention, but it’s his news that freezes me in place.

“There are dragons,” he starts, his voice as smooth and dangerous as a blade sliding from its sheath, “hovering above your brothers’ kingdoms. Waiting for my signal.”

I blink, confusion momentarily pushing aside my anger. “Dragons? What does that have to
