CHAPTER 68 - Facing The Consenquences
ALPHA CHRISTOPHER'S POV
After getting that call from my Beta, telling me that my King was on his way to do an inspection on my pack as well as some of the surrounding packs, as somehow he got tipped off that the packs, especially mine, were mistreating females. It may be true that a female is only there to give us pleasure and the occasional pup.
So I had to, unfortunately, abandon my fun with Skyler and head home to take care of this and make sure, not that I am worried as my pack knows the rules and knows the penalties for not following them.
It took weeks to get that idiot of a king to go back to his castle and get his nose out of my business. As I leave my territory, I open my pack link and contact Greta.
"I will be there in a couple of days. You still have her?"

SKYLER'S POV I fight my way out of the darkness and slowly open my eyes. I was expecting to be tied in one way or another, but I stretch, finding that I am not bound in any way. ALPHA CHRISTOPHER'S POV I make the trip back to my territory and pack. I am in such a foul mood. Not only didn't I get to finish punishing Skyler for killing my brother, but I have also just lost the best assassin I have ever had under my command. A Fairy hybrid is very hard to find as the king of Fairies sees them as abominations and usually has them killed not long after birth. I was lucky that I managed to capture and enslave a purebred fairy. Normally a pure Fairy only lasts for a short amount of time in the service of others, but I found a loophole. I did many hours of research and it took the sacrifice of quite a few scouts to infiltrate the Fairy King's castle and then his library to find the information that I needed. The very last scout I sent come back with a page from a very old book, on that page written in Fairy. It took me a little while to translate it, to find it was the instructions on how to capture, enslave and use a Fairy without killing them.

SKYLER'S POV I wake up, stretch and run my hand over my growing belly. Talking to Doc Isaac, he believes that the twins I am carrying are both Elijah's and Nathan's. Even though there were around 2 weeks between when they had loved me, he said that it is rare but possible. It also explains why one is slightly smaller than the other. I slowly crawl out of bed, as it is getting a little tiring to move as I only have 3 weeks to go. I head into the bathroom for a shower, even though I would love to stay there and soak up all the heat from the water, I don't stay in for too long as I have a little more preparation to do before Samuel and Emma's birthday party starts. I get out of the shower, dry off, and then head out and into the closet. I slip on a loose sundress and then head down to the kitchen. SKYLER'S POV I sigh and make my way around the party, letting the pups and everyone that I pass know that the food is ready and they can help themselves whenever they are hungry. I sit on the back porch, resting my feet for a minute, and watch as Cole continues to play with all the pups. I feel a little guilty and a little sad as I watch him now play and think about what he would have been like with them if that night had gone a different way. SKYLER'S POV I feel like I'm underwater trying to swim against a current to the surface but just can't seem to get there. The current pulls me back into the darkness, making it envelop me once more. I feel like I am underwater again, struggling against the current once more to get to the surface. Only this time I seem to make it, but just as I break the surface and take a sharp breath. It seems that I am then grabbed by the ankle and pulled back under the water, back into the darkness. The current isn't as strong this time allowing me to finally break the surface and I wake slowly, I then fight the heaviness of my eyelids but as I manage to open them I have to shut them once more, as bright rays seem to blind me. I hear muffled movements and try again. This time the bright light is gone and I am able to open them all the way. I smile a little as Elijah's worried face comes into view. SKYLER'S POV After my session with Greta and finding out that Alexander and her, are now expecting their first pup. I think back on Samuel and Emma, Marcus and Claire and then the twins I just lost and the joy we all felt at adding to our family, but that memory is now tinged with sadness. So even as the sadness plagues me, not only from losing the twins but as a side effect of the distance I have once again put between me and Cole, I dance around the kitchen as I make lunch and decide on what I will do for dinner. SKYLER'S POV It's been a week since Harper put the dampener on my fear of that night with Cole and everything has more or less returned to normal the only thing is that it didn't quite work how we wanted it to as yes the fear was reduced but even the thought of being alone with him raises that fear.
