Thirty Eight

Faith said nothing as they began their meeting. The look she gave her father when he apologized for being so irresponsible could make anyone commit suicide. She was grateful that her father did not meet her eyes during his talk or he would have no choice but to be short of words. 

She was mad at the whole thing and even got madder when her mother confirmed that she had forgiven him, just only after a few talks. How could that be? Love could really blind you from the truth, she concluded. 

"Faith?" his father's wife called and she looked up at her.

What did she have in her mind to say? The way she even called her name was awful.
