24. Try Negotiating

Cedric's eyes were still cold when he stepped into his penthouse. After a long day at the office, he had missed Selena's presence. However, disappointment set in when his presence in the house was ignored. Cedric thought his arrival would be welcomed, but that was just his expectation.

Selena stood by the window, staring out as if lost in her thoughts. When Cedric entered the room, she chose to keep her distance from him.

Cedric tried to pounce on Selena's surprise, finding out what might have caused this change. He immediately hugged her from behind, then spoke softly, "Selena, what happened? Why haven't you showered yet?"

He asked because, at this time, Selena was still wearing a blanket to cover her body. Cedric's feelings were increasingly chaotic; he imagined Selena's body behind the white cloth.
