I knock the first time.
No response.
The second time.
Still, no response.
I'm fed up when I knock the third time and there's still no response.
I know he's inside. And I know he's up because the lights are on. He's just ignoring me.
"Troy! Troy!" I call out.
No response.
Okay! I'm done. I'm freezing outside trying to get a grown-ass man to stop sulking and talk to me. Fuck him for keeping me in the cold. Fuck me for allowing him to keep me in the cold.

I don't know how I amassed the strength to get home last night. I even silently cried on the bus, making the old woman seated next to me ask me if there was anything wrong. I told her no. But I lied.
