Chapter 53
Everybody is laughing at the table during dinner.
I fake a laugh when my eyes meet with CJ's. But I'm angry. I'm so angry at him and he doesn't even know it.
"Are you okay?" CJ whispers.
I fake a smile. "Yea... Why wouldn't I be?"
"I don't know. You seem off..."
I look into his eyes and get angry all over again. I swallow my anger and fake a smile.
"It's nothing."I help Nina and Jess clear the table after dinner. The boys are playing video games but CJ keeps throwing his eyes at me and it's making me sick. As if kissing Jess wasn't enough...
Nina places the dirty dishes in the sink the minute we get into the huge kitchen.
"We don't have to wash the dishes!" Jess suggests. "I mean, that's Walter's work, right? He's getting paid for it."
"Let's just do the dishes today," Nina argues.
