Chapter 408

Sabrina paced her office for several minutes trying to figure out the right way to approach her sister. It had taken her a week to build the courage to call her, though she had yet to pick up the phone. She was afraid Irena would hang up when she heard her voice, or shout at her.

Drawing a deep breath, she sat down at her desk and took out her cellphone. She had to get it over with. She wanted Irena to be a part of her wedding, and she wanted to break this wall of ice that had grown between them.

Playing with the ring on her finger, Sabrina slid her thumb across the screen and unlocked it. She sorted through the phone numbers until she found her sister’s, but before she could press it, she lost the courage and set her phone back on the desk. She couldn’t believe how difficult it was to make a simple phone call.
