Vincent couldn’t believe that Enzo had disappeared. He didn’t know what to do know. He thought about his choices as he pulled Rebecca along to the car that was waiting for them. He helped her get into the car sliding in after her he took a deep breath. Taking his phone out he saw a text from his father but he ignored it. He needed to think and his father would somehow just add more stress. He was sure of it.“Vincent, is something wrong?” he heard Rebecca ask from beside him. He turned to look at her and could tell by the look on her face that she was genuinely concerned. He sent her a small nod before he grabbed her face with both hands and pulled her closer to him.Rebecca looked into his eyes and saw a flash of emotion, but it was gone before she could fully understand what the emotion was exactly. She watched as he looked at her lips than back at her eyes. The next thing she knew, his lips were on hers and she was moaning into his mouth.“What am I doing?” Vincent asked himself as
Rebecca woke up the next morning to an empty bed and was slightly relieved. She was pretty sure that she wasn’t going to be able to fully sneak out without some sort of awkward interaction with Vincent, but at least she didn’t have to have to endure the whole ‘about last night’ conversation in first thing in the morning. Yawning she sat up and stretched. She looked around his bedroom. It looked the same as it did that night before, maybe even better. The view was just as beautiful. She had always loved the city she grew up in. She didn’t understand when so many people left after graduation. She hadn’t even applied to college’s that weren't in Chicago. She never planned on leaving. Of course, that was before she started sleeping with men she didn’t really know. Depending on how the pending conversation went, she may have to move. Sighing she decided not to procrastinate and just get it over with. Five minutes later she was pulling her heels on and standing up. She walked to the door
Vincent called Domenico as he drove home. “Hello,” he heard his cousin answer. “Dom, any news on Enzo?” “No,” Domenico regretfully answered. Vincent took a deep breath and ran his hand over his face, “okay meet me at my place. Now,” He hung up without waiting for an answer. He continued the drive and thought about Rebecca. By now his men should be placed around her building. Ensuring that she was safe. That thought made him feel a little more at ease, but he still wanted to find Enzo. He couldn’t let him think that he could get away with the things he was pulling. Vincent pulled his car in front of his building. Throwing his keys to the valet he walked to the elevator. Vincent stepped off on the top floor and paused when he heard a knock on a door. He looked up to find Milena Chaykovsky knocking on his door. Sighing he continued the walk to his apartment. “What are you doing here Milena?” He asked as he reached his door. He watched her turn around and cross her arms sending him a
The next week, Rebecca went about her days as she usually did. She went to work, hung out with Joni and Tobin, and watched tv and fell asleep on the couch. On her way to work on Tuesday, she felt like someone was watching her, but brushed it off. By Thursday she was almost positive that she was being followed. She saw the same man in the lobby of her apartment building and the lobby at the hospital. She tried her hardest to tell herself that it was just a coincidence. That happened three days in a row. Saturday rolled around Rebecca had a lunch date with Joni and Tobin. After they had all ordered she told them about the weird feelings she had been having. “What if it’s Vincent?” Joni says. Rebecca wasn’t sure if she was worried or she thought it was sweet that he may be stalking her. Joni looked between her two friends who both gave her a look. “What?” she shrugged, “you barely know him. You looked hot the night of the gala. Maybe he got hooked.” Rebecca rolled her eyes and looked
Vincent, Domenico, and Gio walked into Francesco office, talking to each other which got his attention. Looking up at his sons and nephew he raised an eyebrow in question. Usually they told him when they were planning to come over and today, they had not.“Can I help you boys with something?” He asked them leaning back in his chair and folding his hands in his lap.Vincent unbuttoned his fitted suit jacket and took it off. He draped it over the back of a chair in front of his fathers desk before sitting down in it. He put both elbows on his knees and held his head in his hands.Francesco looked from his oldest son to the other two men in the room, “what happened?”“Still no word from Enzo,” Domenico answered.“We don’t even know where he is,”Gio added. They both set down on the couch. The chair beside Vincent was empty but neither of them wanted to sit near him. They both had already heard him call them every name in both the English and Italian languages because they had been unsucce
After spending an hour shopping with her mother, Rebecca returned to work. She spent several more hours seeing patients. She was speaking with a woman who was being discharged about her follow up appointment when a nurse came in the room. “Rebecca, someone is here to see you.” Rebecca nodded her head.“Okay I will be there as soon as I finish here,” she told the nurse before turning back to the women. “Miss Sanchez, I need you to get labs done before your appointment next week. Other than that, you are free to go. Just take it easy for the next couple of days,” she finished up before leaving the room. She walked to the nurse's station and looked around looking for who could possibly be there to see her. Her eyes finally landed on Vincent. Her eyes widened in shock. “What the hell is he doing here?” she whispered to herself. “Um... What are you doing here?” She asked him.“I was going to call you, but I was in the area and thought I would see if you had time to talk maybe?” He shoved h
Vincent was waiting for Rebecca when she got off work. She smiled at him as she walked toward him. “You look nice,” she said. “Don't I always?” he frowned and looked down at his suit and tie. Rebecca blushed. “Yes, you do. I just thought I would complement you on it,” she looked down at her feet. Vincent reached out and lifted her head with two fingers under her chin. “You look very nice too,” he nearly whispered. Rebecca felt herself blush again and mentally cursed herself. This blushing thing was out of control. “I’m in scrubs,” she motioned to her work attire. “Any chance we can swing by my place so I can change?” Vincent nodded and they walked out of the building. He opened her door for her making sure that she was in before shutting it and walking to his side to get in. It took twenty minutes to reach Rebecca’s building. Vincent shut the car off and looked at her. “You don’t mind if I come up with you, do you?” He wanted to make sure that her place was secure. He could have
Rebecca stopped screaming out loud but, in her mind she still was. She looked around the room wondering if she could get to the bathroom and lock the door before the man could catch her. Maybe it would be better to run out the door and across the hall to Joni’s apartment. She remembered that it was pretty late and Joni and Isaac were both most likely asleep. She eyed the man as she took deep breaths trying to think of an escape route.“Rebecca? Correct?” the man asked her calmly. She quickly whipped her head to look him directly in the eye. She nodded her head and looked him over wondering if maybe she knew him. His dual brown eyes look as unfamiliar as they looked honest. He was extremely tall; she was sure that she would remember someone as tall as him. “You don’t know me but, I know you. Or of you anyway,” he said as he unbuttoned his suit jacket and took a seat on Rebecca’s couch. She watched him but did not move or say anything. “My name is Dito. I’m here to deliver a massage fr
