I kept breaking the lead of my pencil, I couldn't concentrate… My emotions were taking a toll on me, and usually, I zoned out.

“Hailey, are you fine?” Shirley asked concerned, while I was sharpening my pencil.

“Yeah,” I muttered, my throat felt too dry to talk, I wanted to skip class, but I couldn't, I didn't want to joke about my studies and look so impulsive about my feelings.

“You don't, your eyes are a bit red,” She pointed out, leaning her head close to me, so she could take a better look at me.

“I'm fine, Shirley,” Then, I sniffed.

I wish I were alone, I wanted to cry so badly, I wanted to cry and vex out my emotions, keeping them inside was a life threat.
