I stopped as the door of my room opened and Evelyn stepped out.

I looked at her and sighed. Fuck!

I had totally forgotten about her or that she had claimed this room as hers. Actually, I let her.

"I can help," she said and I squinted my right eye.

"You can handle whatever issue you have at your company, I'll help Enzo solve the case of the missing family," she explained.

"You were listening?" I asked, knowing the obvious answer.

"You're standing in front of my room and you weren't exactly being quiet about it," she replied and rolled her eyes.

"Wait, her room?" Enzo looked so confused.

"Long story," I said and he nodded.

"We don't know what is happening exactly here, it could be dangerous," I said and she scoffed.

"I'm guessing you said that because I'm a LADY. I bet I could kick your ass if I have to," she replied with sarcasm and irritation.

"No, I didn't assume anything. I just-"
