Another night of waiting. I have been waiting for over an hour, and it’s now 9 in the evening. My tolerance for this is wearing thin. The thought of calling him crosses my mind, but I can’t. I am not the customer; I am the service provider. If I do that, I will appear weak and helpless. I got up from bed and went into the kitchen to heat some of the leftovers as I waited for Dark’s call, which might never come.

It must be boring for him not to call back.

But why is it that I eagerly anticipate his calls each and every day? Why haven’t I given up? I ground my teeth together and let out a sigh as I continued to eat the leftover pizza.
