Scarlett’s Point of View
From that day onward, I couldn't comprehend the sudden change in Storm's behavior. It was a perplexing enigma to me. However, after two years of absence, he finally began to spend his nights under our roof once again.
Perhaps it was his grandfather's influence, but I could finally view our union as a true marriage. From now on, I would be able to live life on my own terms without any interference. In fact, I had already planned to have a discussion with him about our future together, free from the watchful eye of his grandfather and other people around us, including the media.
But first and foremost, I must express my sincerest apologies for my previous behavior.
I busied myself with preparing dinner while anxiously awaiting his arrival. He usually came home by 9 pm, but it was now past 10 pm and he still had not returned.
“Won’t he come home today?” I asked myself.

12:31 am
My shoulders drooped as I came to the realization that he wouldn't be returning home tonight. Plus the fact that my eyelids grew heavy, begging for rest.
‘I guess I'll just tell him directly once he comes home.’
As I stood up, my hands instinctively went to smooth out the wrinkles on the tablecloth. But suddenly, I froze as the sound of his car pulling into the driveway reached my ears.
My nerves raced with anticipation and I couldn't resist running to the door to greet him. Standing in front of it, I could feel my palms sweating and my heart pounding against my chest with nervousness.
As the door creaked open, I summoned a sweet and sincere smile and flashed it at him. But my smile quickly faded when I saw him carrying a woman in his arms, their lips locked in a passionate kiss. Her legs wrapped around his waist as he nibbled on her neck with fervor. The sight made my heart sink and my stomach turn.
The woman's back was turned to me, oblivious to my presence. But as soon as Storm saw me, he froze and his icy gaze locked onto mine. Then, his eyes flickered to the dining table beside them before returning to lock onto me. Without a word, he resumed his passionate kiss with the woman, dismissing me entirely.
The sight made my stomach turn and I could taste the bitterness of betrayal in my mouth.
"Ugh! Stop it, you're being too rough!" the woman giggled. "Relax, you'll get your chance to taste me later and devour me all night long."
“Yeah?” Storm replied huskily as his eyes pierced mine, looking so deeply at me. “I can’t wait to stick my dick inside you.”
My breath caught in my throat, as if his words were directed specifically at me. But I quickly pushed those thoughts away and avoided his intense stare. Silently, I made my way out of the scene and took refuge in the kitchen, hoping to avoid being noticed by the woman.
My hand instinctively flew to my chest, unable to calm the rapid beating of my heart. The memories of his piercing gray eyes flooded my mind, overwhelming me with their intensity. It was as if he was trying to seduce me, to consume me whole.
I couldn't bring myself to interrupt him, after all, I was the one who declared I didn't care if he met someone else. Nonetheless, why was I suddenly feeling so low? It was irrational, but the emotions were impossible to ignore.
'You can't be in love with someone after just sleeping with them for the first time, Scarlett!' I tried to convince myself, repeating the words over and over again.
But my heart was stubbornly refusing to listen. 'But he was the one who took my... virginity. So it's normal to feel disappointed, right?!'
Despite my better judgment, I couldn't deny the intense feelings stirring within me.
Lost in my thoughts, my phone abruptly rang. In a frenzy, I fished it out of my pocket, and my heart went from beating nervously to pounding with fear as I saw the caller's name.
Doctor Hernandez is calling...
As soon as I tapped the green button, a calm yet worried voice spoke without giving me a chance to speak. "Miss Scott, I apologize for contacting you at such a late hour, but it's imperative that you come to the hospital immediately. It's difficult to explain over the phone, but your mother..."
An intense fear seized my heart, and without waiting for him to speak further, I bolted towards the door. The driver was nowhere in sight, so I quickly left the villa and flagged down a passing taxi, despite it being the dead of night. My mind couldn't even fathom the potential dangers that awaited me outside.
Fortunately, there was a cab that stopped in front of me.
"Go to the Sun City Hospital, please!"
My heart raced as I clutched my phone, unable to shake the harrowing thoughts of what could happen to my mother...
My mother suffered from a severe heart condition. There was a hole in her heart that weakened it with each passing day. The only hope for extending her life was a heart transplant. We searched tirelessly for a donor match, but unfortunately, none could be found. We were left with no choice but to rely on her medication to keep her alive.
Hastily, I made my way to the hospital and rushed to my mother's room. I was greeted by the all too familiar scene of doctors frantically trying to revive her. This was a monthly occurrence and it tore at my heart each time, but there was nothing I could do. Despite my deep desire to ease her pain, some things were beyond my control...
I observed intently as she regained her breath, and a sense of relief washed over me. Two doctors and four nurses worked diligently to save her life, ensuring that she received thorough care and examination. This was reflected in the hefty medical bills that came afterwards - it was no laughing matter.
"Doctor..." I called Doctor Hernandez.
As soon as the doctor noticed me, he approached and pulled me out of the room, his expression grave. He didn't want my mother to hear what he had to say. "Miss Scott, I won't sugarcoat it. You're aware of your mother's condition and I'm afraid that if this happens again, we won't be able to save her anymore."
Trembling, I nodded my head frantically at the doctor's word.
"I promise to find a donor as soon as possible," I managed to choke out between sobs.
As I looked down at my bare feet, I realized in daze that I had forgotten to put on my slippers before rushing here. Then, tears continued to stream down my face, falling onto my grimy toes.
The doctor let out a heavy sigh. "As I've mentioned countless times before, even if she were to undergo a transplant, her weakened body wouldn't be able to handle the operation. And quite frankly, you should be more concerned about your own well-being."
I nervously nibbled on my bottom lip and stared blankly at my dirt-stained feet, desperately avoiding the truth that was about to be spoken. But as much as I wanted to run away from it, I knew deep down that it was the harsh reality I couldn't escape.
"Miss Scott," he called with sincerity and added, "you know you have the same condition as your mother. I'm afraid that if you don't take it seriously, you will face the same fate as her. You are still young and have your whole life ahead of you. Consider your future and whether or not you will have children of your own depends on this hereditary illness."
Scarlett’s Point of ViewI grasped my mother's hand, intertwining my fingers with hers and gently brought it to my lips for a kiss. I gazed at her delicate features, her face drained of color and her lips dry from medication as she lay peacefully sleeping. I fought back the tears, determined to show strength in her presence, but eventually succumbed to the torrent of emotions, unable to contain my weeping any longer. As tears streamed down my face, I trembled in fear at the thought of losing my mother. Suddenly, the door burst open and Daniel and Noemi, my two best friends, rushed into the room."You're a mess," Noemi teased, as I noticed tears forming in the corners of her eyes. "Come on, wipe those tears away. Aunt doesn't want to see you sniffling like that."I was aware that she was attempting to lift my spirits, but like she told me back then, her own strength faltered whenever she saw me in such a state. It was as if I were a helpless child, uncertain of what path to take in lif
Scarlett’s Point of View "Oh my god! Did you really sleep, Scarlett?! Look at those eyebags!" Noemi's voice echoed through the hospital room, exclaiming in shock. She then turned to me, accusatively asking, "Did you go to work instead of resting?" I shook my head and chuckled. "I slept." The truth was, I couldn't sleep at all. My mind was consumed with thoughts of Storm and his strange behavior last night. Before I knew it, morning had arrived and I had no choice but to get up. "Don't lie," Daniel said as he offered me a chair. Ignoring their persistent prodding, I seated and focused on my mother who was now awake. She seemed concerned as she stared at me, but I flashed her a gentle smile and reassured her with a soft voice. "I truly did sleep, mom. You don't have to listen to them." "I can't trust your words when you look like you're about to collapse." Her voice was strained as she spoke, her body looking ready to crumble at any moment. Then, she continued, "Scarlett, sweetie,
Scarlett's Point of ViewAs soon as I walked in and caught sight of him, I quickly turned towards the stairs, purposefully ignoring his presence to get under his skin. But before I could take a step, I noticed him getting up and striding towards me. I was about to brush him off when he suddenly grabbed my arm and forced me to face him.“What?” I asked, acting as if annoyed. “I’m exhausted and I need to get ready to go to your parent’s villa. Let me know what you need right now, because I don’t have time for an argument.”“What game are you playing now?” he asked with his teeth clenched. His grip on my arm grew tighter. “Scarlett, I despise those who interfere with my business. Stay out of it and focus on your own life!”Before I answered him, I glanced down at his hand that was in my arm. Then, I tore my arm from his grip, my eyes narrowing in anger and disgust. "You interrupted me for this?""Because you are fucking stubborn!" he hissed."I think you are forgetting something, Storm,"
Scarlett’s Point of ViewHe stared into my face, his expression filled with confusion, as if struggling to comprehend my words. However, instead of engaging in a conversation, he simply turned his back to me, offering me nothing but a cold shoulder. “I want mango,” I repeated."And so?" he questioned, a hint of frustration dancing in his voice."And so, get them yourself. Look at those mangoes, it's not exactly a difficult task, is it?" I replied, a smile gracing my lips."If it's not difficult, then why don't you do it yourself instead of asking me?" he retorted, his tone laced with annoyance.Observing his icy demeanor, I decided to respond directly, without further ado. "Alright then."Without wasting another moment, I retrieved my phone from my pocket and dialed a number. As the phone began to ring, his attention swiftly shifted towards me, his eyes widening in surprise. "Who are you calling?" I responded with a sweet smile, lifting my phone to show him the screen. "Grandpa."Hi
Scarlett’s Point of ViewPuppet. A marionette. There was no denying it, was there? I had known all along. The way my father manipulated me with those string-like puppets, dictating what I should do, making me believe that I needed him just for my mom and I to survive. I had known it from the beginning, but why did it feel like the harsh reality and a stinging slap when he himself said it... "Sweetie... Scarlett. Honey. Are you with me?" A voice jolted me back to reality. As I looked up, I saw the concerned expression on Missus Scoville's face as she observed the crumpled brochure I held. Realizing my mistake, I quickly attempted to straighten it as I gulped anxiously."I... I apologize. I didn't realize..." I couldn't continue my sentence as tears unexpectedly streamed down my cheeks. What was this pain I felt just because of his words? "It's alright, dear. It's just a brochure. I'm more worried about you. You seem distant and pale. Are you alright?" She gently touched my forehe
Scarlett's Point of View"The mango," he said, his voice dripping with impatience.I raised an eyebrow, feeling ignorant. "Huh?"His sneer deepened and remarked with arrogance, "Give me the mango. Are you deaf or what?" I couldn't help but be amused by his audacity. I held the mango tightly, refusing to surrender it to him. In a swift motion, he grabbed my hand and brought it to his mouth, devouring the fruit. A rush of heat flushed my cheeks as he teasingly sucked on my finger. Instinctively, I pushed him away, clutching the hand he had touched."What... What are you doing? Are you some kind of pervert or what?!" I exclaimed, my voice filled with a mix of shock and indignation. He ignored my question, his attention already diverted back to his laptop. I stood there, dumbfounded, for a few moments before deciding to let it go and just sleep. The next morning, I awoke in his room, realizing that I had fallen asleep there for the whole day and night. Exhaustion had gotten the better o
Scarlett's Point of ViewI scratched my head and forced a smile, trying to hide my discomfort. "How can I possibly do that, grandpa? It's Scoville's and my husband's money, not mine.""But you're a Scoville now, dear. Your husband's money is your money," grandpa replied softly. Then, his tone turned cold as he asked, "did Storm make you sign a prenup?"I was taken aback, not wanting to reveal the truth. The truth was, Storm had indeed made me sign a prenup after our wedding. He didn't want grandpa and his parents to know, so I kept it a secret until now. And admitting it at this moment, I had no desire to let him think I was only interested in his wealth."No, grandpa," I replied with a forced smile. "It's just that I'm not the kind of person who spends money that hasn't been earned through my own hard work."I bit my lower lip, feeling a pang of guilt wash over me, remembering what me and dad planned from the start."My son is fortunate to have married such a wonderful woman who isn
Storm strode confidently into the high-end restaurant, its opulent decor catching the eye where only a handful of patrons were present. While a reservation was typically necessary for entry, Scarlett noticed the shocked expressions of the waitstaff and understood that this domineering man didn’t need one. The soft murmur of conversation filled the air, mingling with the clinking of silverware. A hint of rich aroma from the exquisite dishes wafted through the room. "The Scovilles!" exclaimed the manager, rushing over to them. "What a delightful surprise to see you here! It is truly an honor to have you as our guests." Storm nodded, his demeanor exuding elegance. "I would like to be seated in a VIP room." "Certainly, Mr. Scoville! Please, follow me." The manager led them to a room adorned with a large table, complete with candles and flowers, as if it were a romantic rendezvous. "This is the most exclusive reservation we can offer you. If there is anything you desire, please do not
