“She-did she just tear the cheque in two? Is she crazy?”

“Crazy? She’s a fool! Someone just handed her a platter of gold with her life on it and she chose to melt the gold in a furnace!”

“I’m not exactly sure what will happen to her, but I know it’ll be bad.”

Anna’s eyes darkened in rage. “What did you just do?”

Taylor placed the one half on the other and laid it beside her before retorting, “I tore it.”

Anna clenched her fist tightly and glared hard at her. “Why did you do that? Are you deliberately provoking me to anger?”

Taylor shook her head and said seriously, “Don’t get me wrong, I would never. I only did what I did because there was no need for it.”

“A blank cheque to get away from Mr. Sanchez which would entail me to resign my job and leave the city? There’s totally no need for that.”

Anna snickered and raised a brow, “Why? Do you plan to resign and leave the city without taking anything from me?”

Taylor chuckled, “Of course not.”
