Chapter One

Waking up with Ade is something not unusual for Gabrielle. They've been dating for a good half a year now but even before they decided to officially be together, Adrian has already been a very good friend to her. He's a high school buddy of her. They've been in the same clubs in junior high and

Adrian has always been very caring about her, just like an older brother she never had.

Well, she never had any sibling at all... she grew up alone in a castle, with only nannies and bodyguards to look after her. As playmates, all she had were cousins and a few good friends like Ade. But it isn't like she could call them her siblings, not at all. Most of them, she would meet only when there are family gatherings, in school, girls would get close to her just because she's popular... just because she is an heiress to a multi-billion-dollar company.

She feels him pulling her tighter to his embrace and she automatically plants her face to his naked chest.

"Cook for me Ade... I want some omelette and French toast." She whispers making him just embrace her tighter.

"That isn't part of the contract I signed to be your boyfriend, little thug."

He chuckles before groaning as she pinched his sides not so gently.

"You little rascal!" He grunts in pain making her laugh.

"This, also isn't part of the deal! You talking back when I tell you to cook."

She pushes his chest before throwing the pillow to his face.

"Fuck it. You're really so cruel. You don't need a boyfriend, you need a servant."

"Come on Ade! We both know you're not a good boyfriend either."

She stands up swaying from her hangover and catching the pillow he'd thrown at her before sticking her tongue out making him even more frustrated. If people see them, they would think that they are such a cute couple. But they know better...

"Now get your arse out of the bed and cook for me."

"Why don't you cook this time, my little beast?" He smirks before advancing towards her with only his boxers on.

They are in his flat, the windows are open and not just one pair of eyes from the building opposite theirs are watching their morning argument.

"Cook what...?" She asks biting her bottom lip and even before she could get an answer, Ade's arms are already wrapped around her waist, her legs automatically embracing his waist as he pins her to the wall and give her a

hard kiss.

"You're so beautiful..." He whispers before nibbling on her earlobe and gently kissing the back of her ear.

"I know...but I could be awfully ugly when hungry..." She pushes him a little, her eyes narrowing at the reflection coming from a piece of mirror a fewbmeters away from them before she shifted her gaze to his eyes and leans down to kiss his lips.

"Save me, Ade..." She whispers after breaking the kiss and planting her beautiful face in between his shoulder and jaw.

Sighing heavily, Adrian embraces her tighter, his huge hand caressing the young woman's hair as he feels his throat goes dry. He would do anything to save her... But saving her would actually mean the death of both of them, including tens of the people who are on their side...

"Save you exactly from where, my dear daughter?" Gabrielle's arms snaked tighter around his body. Did she just hear that hateful voice in the room?

The next thing she's witnessing is the dimming of the room as one of his bodyguards closes the curtain before his father taps Adrian's back with his cane.

"Peter, have you ever seen a limp model?" He asks his bodyguard whose eyes bore on Adrian's face down to his knees.

"That would be interesting to see, sir." He smirked. Gabrielle felt Adrian's chest heaving nervously knowing exactly what that meant for him.

"A Crippled Model... How does that sound for a headline, Thorne?"

Adrian finally lets go of her and she immediately stands between her devil of a father and her boyfriend.

"A daughterless father... sounds better than that Mr. Davis." She says trying not to be taken aback by her father's coldness.

As if noticing her existence just now, her father looks down at her with amusement in his eyes before he smirked.

"I never had a daughter if you come to think of it. I never had a child, not at all."

"The feeling is mutual. I never had a father. All I had is a wealthy scumbag of a sperm donor to my mom who'd bore me for nine months before leaving me behind to be cared for by a bunch of paid nannies and bodyguards."

"You should feel glad those paid nannies even took you in, you little piece if shit."

"Coming from a sperm of a shitty person, I wonder why, FATHER."

Her eyebrows which always amused the old man raised a bit and even before she could say or do anything, the old man's laughter echoes in the whole of the room. His hand which she expected to land on her cheek, well, landed on her cheek but not with a slap that stings. It was more of a tap as her father continues to laugh while looking at her eyes.

"You've grown into a really awful girl, Gabby. Clever, but awfully amusing Imust say." For a moment, that melted her heart. Hearing that name from his lips again after so many years of not hearing anything good from him made her almost want to just cry in her father's chest.

There were times when she was a girl that she's done that. There were times when he loved her too and when she thought of her as her hero... There were times...

"You're sick..." She whispers as she pushes his hands away from her face.

Not wanting to let her guard and pride down. She hates him. With all her guts, she does...

"Yeah yeah, but not as sick as Adrian's mom... What stage is it, boy? Stage

four?" With that, Gabrielle's eyes grow

wider as she inhales heavily before

looking at Ade whose face turns pale.

"Such a waste if you lose her... She's all you've got... well aside from your so-called career that you too will lose if I decide to make use of this cane in a different manner."

"My mother has nothing to do with you and your failure to be Gab's father!" Ade advances and holds the older man's collar in his fist.

"Tsk... Tsk... Tsk... Young boy, you have developed some balls... What did my daughter promise you? A fortune? Fame?! A big name? What makes you think that I cannot give you the same in my own conditions?"

"I love her! I love your daughter and I care for her more than you've ever done!" That must have been the last straw for her father, pushing the cane to the floor, her father who is as tall and masculine as the model puts his

hands around his neck and pushes him to the wall.

"Why??! Isn't it true?! You never cared for your only daughter! You treated her like a prisoner in your own castle! When she was kidnapped during our fieldtrip in junior high, where were you?! Did you look for her the way we all did?! No! You stayed in your fucking mansion in New York and let those fucking guards do your job as a father! Your daughter has been traumatized to the point that she became anorexic that time, where were you?!"

"You really talk too much for a guy..."

With one thud, he pushed the younger man to the wall heavily before grabbing Gabrielle's arms to drag her out.

"You're not taking her away!" Ade grabs her, the two men tugging at her as if she's the rope.

"Young man, you have your own mother to take care of. As for this young woman over here, she still has a father, she doesn't need another one."

"I never had a father!" She butts in.

Her tears falling, hating both men right now. Hating Ade for making her remember that awful past she hated the most...and hating her father for being her father.

"If you're trying to act like a father now, it's already too late Gabriel Davis! My father is dead, in my heart and mind, I have no parent now! If you think you can make up for all those years that you've abandoned me, you're wrong! I don't even give a fuck anymore if you die in front of me now!"

It all came when she least expects it and the next thing she felt was his heavy palm finally landing on her cheek. That was the only time... The one and only time that Gabriel Davis ever laid a finger on her that it made her chuckle.

"It doesn't even hurt anymore..." She whispers in between crying and laughing as she looks up at him.

The guilt and pain... they were all visible in his eyes... Gabby's tears fell looking at her father's eyes that held emotions she never thought he was capable of.

"It didn't even hurt anymore... You've hurt me in so many different ways already, why slap me now when the physical pain doesn't even count anymore, dada...?"

Dada... Those words he longed to hear from her again, he's hearing it now but with so much hatred. Vague memories of a tiny little angel running towards him, throwing her arms around his neck as she screams "dada" giggling. Him throwing his attaché case just to lift her up in his arms, her tiny wings taking all the stress out of his system as he brings her to his chest...

With jaws clicking, Gabriel Davis look at the young woman in front of him. He turned his little angel into this. It was all his fault. He would turn back time if he could just to correct everything, but that's not possible now. He has a very limited time now to make her feel how much he really loved her... And in that time, he'd bet his hat she won't even believe her anymore.

He had ruined her. He had ruined the glint in her eyes when she smiles, now that all he could see from them are anger and hate.

"My death may not mean a thing to you Gabrielle Ralph... but I doubt his mother's death would be the same story... Stop this fucked up and childish game and go back home." With that, even before a tear could fall from his eyes, he turned away from the young lady he would give his life to.

"I hate you..." He heard her say as she breaks down.

Those three words he knows very well...

He knows she hates him, but hearing her actually say it is burning his soul even more. To hear his angel's voice spitting words of hatred he never wanted her to say to him even when he already knew...

"I wish you never had to be my father."

Gabrielle's knees buckle up as she falls helplessly down the floor as she watches his back facing her for the millionth time. Moreover, knowing her evil of a father is winning the game again. She couldn't let him touch Ade or any of his family and knowing how powerful and heartless her own father is... she knows very well he wouldn't bat an eye to do so. He can do just anything to ruin her life...to ruin the lives of people who mattered to her.

"The feeling is mutual, Gabby... I wished you never had to be mny daughter.. I'd rather not have any than to have you... " He said trying not to have her hear the pain in his voice...

He said every single word without even turning to look at her because the moment he did, he krnew, he would lift her up and imprison her in his arms like the way he did when she was troubled by nightmares leaving her crying at night when she was a girl..

With those words said, Gabriel Davis storms out of the room leaving a more heartbroken soul of a girl whose only sin is that she was born in his blood...

Whose only mistake is that she had to bear the same name that he has. Gabrielle Ralph Davis.
