Artemis Thaleia's POV
"Good evening, my lady." I took my eyes off the elevator that Sin rode back to his room.I turned to look at a woman in her mid-twenties, wearing the same uniform of the servant I'd seen on dinner earlier."I'm Catliona your lady-in-waiting. I'll take you to your room." She mumbled. Instead of taking the elevator, we used the Chateau's grand staircase instead."I'm sorry we had to sort a few things in the room where you'll be staying. Lady Mallory didn't tell us right away that the Miscreant had a new member which is why we haven't prepared anything for you," she mumbled. My eyes darted on the paintings that were hanging on the wall. I stopped walking when my eyes landed on a world-famous one.I came closer and tried to examine the painting, I knew nothing about painting but this one looked like a legit painting of Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa."Is this?" I tried to ask."Bring these boxes into Artemis' room and you can leave us alone afterward," Mallory said. Her eyes darted on the same painting. "That's the original Mona Lisa painting of Leonardo Da Vinci, my favorite one." Mallory glanced back at me"I paid Euleasis millions to have that one." My lips parted."I remember asking Eul to steal a blueprint which he managed to do within an hour, but stealing something like this one is a different case. Is he that good?" I asked Mallory."For how long did you have this painting here?" "Three or four years," Mallory replied."But there was no news three or four years ago that the Mona Lisa was stolen," I trailed."They didn't know it was stolen." The playful smile came back on Mallory's lips."H-Huh, but how did he do that?" Mallory asked."I don't know. It's an Eul thing as he called it. I don't care about how he did it. What's important to me was he managed to bring me the painting," Mallory said and led me to my room."Starting tomorrow you're an unofficial member of Miscreant Mafia until you prove yourself worthy to become one. If not then you must bid goodbye to your life, Artemis," Mallory said and was close to leaving when she turned back to me."By the way, those boxes were sets of contact lenses you must wear every time or at least if he's around. Sin hates seeing your eyes and their natural color," she said then walked out of the room. I gawked at those boxes for a moment."Why would he hate my eyes?" I whispered.****Sunlight hitting my face woke me up from my sleep, despite that I chose to close my eyes and pulled the comforter to wrap it around my body to sleep again."Good morning, my lady." I heard Catliona's soft voice. I got up and opened my eyelids even though I still wanted to sleep."Catliona?" I called her and then got off the bed. A few seconds passed and she came out of my walk-in closet."Do you like coffee, tea, or milk, my lady?" She asked with a smile that drew my attention from the clothes he placed on the bed."I'd like to have black coffee please," I muttered. ******A few steps before I could reach the shooting range where Sin was, gunshots filled my ears. Sin was standing a few meters away from a target holding a golden-coated caliber 45 pistol.A man walked towards the target to pick it up and ran back to Sin to show it to him. Every bullet that he fired up landed on the bull's eye."Good morning, Artemis." Rivalee greeted me before she took a shotgun from the row of guns lying on a table."There you are," Sin said then sat on the red couch by the gazebo. Thayer handed an ear muff to Rivalee before she rose to her feet and marched her way to the shooting range."Does she know how to use a shotgun?" I asked. Conrad tore his eyes from his phone and stared at me for a moment before he put his attention back on it. Lorcan on the other hand was busy assembling a gun"Well, what can I say, Miscreant raised her well," Mallory murmured as she smiled in Rivalee's direction.A few minutes later after the shotgun bullets ran out. We saw Rivalee remove her ear muff, and then make her way back to us."You hit them all?" Thayer asked. He dropped the double-sided knife that he was playing with on the table. Rivalee nodded with a smile then took a bottle of water from Thayer.Rivalee turned to me and then handed over the same shotgun she used. "It's your turn, Artemis," Rivalee said. I looked at it for a few seconds before I finally accepted it.Handling guns is not new to me. I do know how to use a pistol, machine gun, sniper, and some other rifle but not this one, I don't know how to use a shotgun."Go, baby, make me proud," Sin said before he sipped on his wineglass.I breathe deeply and stride my way towards the shooting range. A man came up to me to give me the box of shotgun ammunition. I loaded the empty gun with it, moment after that, a man pressed something and a mechanism started for the targets to move.I took a deep breath and exhaled. I pulled the trigger of the shotgun, but the impact made me lose my balance.I looked at the gazebo and saw that they were all looking and watching me seriously."Damn it!" I blurted out, panicky. My hands trembled and the box of bullets fell from the table. I bent down and picked them up. I loaded the shotgun with another bullet and tried to aim at the moving targets, but it was still the same as before.I quickly became nervous when Sin snatched the shotgun from me, I didn't even notice that he was standing behind me now."Sorry," I said. His jaws were clenched and his face was red out of anger. Sin laughed even though nothing was funny.Within a snap, without even tearing his eyes off me. Sin angled the shotgun towards his right and then fired. "What is so hard about this? You managed to blow up a chopper but you can't aim at your targets.?" He asked between gritted teeth. "Show me no fear, Artemis!" He screamed. I redeemed my composure as he handed me the shotgun again."You will not leave this shooting range until you hit those targets!" He said then turned to the gazebo."Mallory! We'll leave in five minutes for Isla Serpiente!" He shouted.Third Person's Pov"Don't hurt me, I am your friend." Sin gave Mallory a goofy grin as Mallory pulled a small knife from her sling bag.Her name was embroidered on it in a cursive form."Since we have a lot of ongoing experiments here. I decided to tighten the security." Mallory pressed a passcode on a glass-like screen.Sin looked around then looked back to Mallory."Those snakes waiting at Isla Serpiente's shore are they not enough?" He asked her.Isla Serpiente is home to a species of the world's venomous snakes and will welcome anyone on the shores of the island.Miscreant took advantage of the nesting of hordes of snakes here to build a laboratory owned by them. The walls that prevent the snakes from coming within the laboratory's vicinity are state-of-the-art fences with the capability to produce a high voltage of electricity that will electelectrocutedne who tries to climb it.The only way to get to the laboratory is to ride a chopper that lands on top of the laboratory's hel
Artemis Thaleia's POV"You can do it, Artemis," I whispered to myself.I stood up properly and tried to harden my hands that were holding the gun. I close my eyes and breathe deeply before pulling its trigger, but like before I missed my target.I put the shotgun down on the table and curse."Damn it! What the hell is wrong with you? A sixteen-year-old can hit the target but why can't you?!" I ranted to myself frustratedly."Maybe using a scalpel and throwing it on the target, would be a lot easier for you, Doctor." I heard Thayer's baritone voice from behind. I opened my eyes and frowned at him.He tried to tap my shoulder but I was quick to shove his hands. He chuckled once more."I swear when I'm done with these fucking targets, I'll whack your head!" I scoffed as his chuckles got on my nerves.Thayer took the shotgun and loaded it with another bullet. The expression in his eyes was serious. I tried to take it from him but he wouldn't let me."Give it to me."No, Artemis. Y
Artemis Thaleia's POVThayer's Lykan Hypersport is a statement on the street. I've been in his car once but it's the first time I appreciated his car's interior design."Do you think Sin and Mallory are back at the Chateau?" I asked him as I glanced at the window. I saw him shrug his shoulders when I looked at him for a moment. His eyes were still looking directly at the road and was driving fast."Aren't we running over the speed limit of 60kph?" I asked."We are going 120kph." "And no traffic enforcers are chasing us hmm?" I murmured in amusement. "Are you really into him? Isn't that just infatuation?" Thayer suddenly asked that caught me off-guard. I straightened up by leaning on the seat of his car and then slightly played with the seatbelt wrapped around my body. One thing I absolutely know about Thayer is that you cannot ride his car if you don't want to put your seatbelts on.I looked at him and smiled as I shrugged my shoulder too."I don't know if it's love. I don't kn
Artemis Thaleia's POV"Mallory, can't we stop them?" Rivalee's voice sounded concerned as I walked into her asking Mallory that the next day."We can't do that," Mallory said with a faint of unknown emotion in her eyes. It could be that she's trying to calm Rivalee from whatever it is that's scaring her.Mallory forced a smile as she saw me.Gone was the cheerful Rivalee as she bore her eyes on me, unlike before it's blazing with anger now. Rivalee stood up and walked out."What's with her?" I asked in a monotone. "Sin gave Thayer a joker card," Mallory started."And what is that for?" I asked again."Joker card is Sin's way of telling someone that they're on for a fight with him. For those who receive that card, it's a fight for their lives but for him it's just a simple game, to have a fun time." Liri Blair's voice echoed from behind me.I looked at her. She gracefully strides her way towards us, wearing her denim shorts."Hold up! Does that mean Sin will kill Thayer?" I asked
Artemis Thaleia's POVI slowly opened my eyes after I pulled away from Sin. The kiss that we shared lasted for minutes and it almost took my breath away.I slowly lifted my head and searched for his eyes. I stood in front of him rigidly as I found his eyes staring intently at me.Those are burning because of two things; anger and lust.I gulped and breathed deeply."You embarrassed me," he said. The only reason why I got in the boxing cage was because I wanted to get Thayer out of there.I want to spare his life from Sin's wrath, at least I did it for Rivalee. Now that I've gotten Thayer out of here, and there's no one in the small chateau arena except Sin and me, I don't know what to do next."Artemis." I darted my eyes back at him and hid all the unnecessary emotion that was evident in it earlier."As long as you treat Thayer as someone dear and special. I'd never go easy on him," Sin warned.I closed my eyes and sighed."Stop it, this is so not you, Sin," I mumbled. Sin grinned
Artemis Thaleia's POVWaking up with Sin lying next to me is probably one of the greatest things that happened to me.Slowly and with gentleness. I tried to run my finger through his face, but he suddenly opened his eyes. I gasped, and my heart began to pound as he caught my hand that was about to touch his face."S-Sin."He smirked at my stuttering voice."If you'd touch me now...you know I was going to ask for more, Artemis." Sin slowly loosened his hold on my hand."Do you still want to touch me?" Sin asked. I wet my bottom lip and pulled him closer to me for a kiss.I felt him smile in between my kisses before he began to respond and when he did I was lost to it again."You're getting addicted to me, aren't you?" Sin mumbled and trailed my jaw with feather-light kisses, and then he broke it as he suddenly stood up."I have things to do Mi Bella, I'll see you downstairs." Before I could even open my mouth to speak, I heard the bedroom door close."Good morning, my lady." Calliona
Artemis Thaleia's POV"Welcome to the city of love, Paris!" Liri giggled. I got out of Mallory's Hypersport and leaned against its door."And what are we supposed to do here?" I asked with an arched brow."You'll be meeting your first target in that coffee shop, Artemis." Mallory handed me a folder as she pointed out a coffee shop across the street."Furikawa Kiyozaki." I read the name on the bottom picture of a man wearing a tuxedo."Secretary of Defense of Japan..." My eyes widened."How do you expect me to kill someone like him and steal something as precious as their country's seal?" I asked Mallory hysterically. She turned to me and looked at the folder that I placed on top of her car."Do we have a problem here?" Liri asked."I guess we have. Artemis said that couldn't do her first mission. Should we ask Kanoa to come back here and let her do this mission?" Mallory said with a faint taunting smile."Really? You're using reverse psychology on me?" I asked angrily. I was about to
Third Person's PovThe following morning was Artemis's first day on the mission."Oh, Lala." There was a teasing glint in Mallory's eyes when she saw Artemis in her disguise as Alice, a theatre artist."Take care of this puppy, I'll bring it home to Naples after you're done with him," Mallory said and handed Artemis the chihuahua.Artemis took a moment to look at herself in the mirror and adjusted her trench coat before she accepted the leash of the chihuahua."Let's do this," Artemis murmured to them as she got out of the taxi. Mallory acted as the driver of the fake taxi that stopped right in front of the cafe while Liri disguised as another customer in the restaurant in case Artemis needed her help.Wearing a fake smile, she pushed open the cafe's door. The bell that was hanging on the door made a noise, drawing the eyes of customers of the restaurant including Furikawa.Artemis tried to hide her grin as she made her way towards the counter for her order."Good morning." She greete
