Chapter 19 - Unexpected Proposal
Kylie POV:
I wake up with a start, my forehead is all sweaty, my heart is pounding against my rib cage.
The clock shows 7 a.m., did I sleep almost 24 hours?
When is the last time this happened? Never.
After I have arrived home yesterday, I took a shower, the water was cold, of course, there is no warm water in this dire building, then I went directly to sleep. I was so exhausted, yet I did not realize that until I put myself on the mattress.
Now I try to blink away my dizziness, I need to get ready for work.
I get startled when someone is touching my arm.
“Peter, for God’s sake, you scared the hell out of me!” I sigh, my pulse coming back to a normal rate.
“Why are you so jumpy, sister? Whom did you think I was?” He quirks a brow at me.
Putting on a straight face, I respond nonchalantly. “No one.”
“You are hiding something.” He suddenly declares.
“Why would you believe that?”
