Before I could walk out of the hospital ward which was starting to suffocate me, I was stopped by a uniformed doctor who expressed his concern. In his view, I was at risk of being killed because he suspected that my allergy reaction was not an accident.

I almost laughed at his words.

There was nothing spectacular about his suspicions. I have spent years being a hunter and the hunted. And, of course, I always make sure that I am one step ahead of those who wish to butcher me.

So, after getting some cash for a taxi ride from the doctor, I was on my way back to Miss Edwards’s abode. I can’t wait to see how the boldness she was trying hard to slap into my face dissolves. At this point, after what she did, she will have no choice but to come with me.

Several minutes later, the house came into view.

But barely a few steps toward the building, I suspected that something was amiss. On the path I was walking were faint lines that showed signs of multiple footsteps.
